Being a Chef is harder than what it may seem and especially a chef who has to run a full kitchen as well. It is time demanding and a very hectic profession to be in but it is also a career I am very interested to be in. I love cooking and preparing exotic meals. There is an endless possibility of recipes that can be combined and put together to make a fantastic creation and it is when I am at the happiest. A chef must know a few of the basics of cooking like what ingredients can be mixed, what flavors growth each other and pretty much a brief knowledge about all the cuisines in the world to excel. It is important for chefs to keep evolving every day to stay on top and know about the current foods trending and most of all know more insight about the calories in the meal being prepared and the nutritional value. Despite having a general knowledge about cooking a chef also needs to have some basic culinary training as well. Chefs who attend culinary school are also trained to cook and manage a kitchen as well in maintain books and inventory. There are many pros and cons to being a professional Chef. There are many chefs who get a star as they achieve new awards or achievements. This works as a pro as they get offered fine restaurants or hotels to be hosted as an in house or head chef. The highest amount of stars achieved by a single man is a chef called Gordon Ramsey who has twenty seven stars to his name and in return runs one of the biggest restaurants in las vegas, a very highly recommended food critic and the star of two cooking shows. Another pro is that some chefs who have created their own signature dishes or sauces get big deals with major sauce companies and get shelved in some of the finest grocery stores and also helps them bring in more money.
