Jane Alternate Ending
“Good morning.”
Jane smiled as she opened her eyes slowly.
“Morning Jane, how did you sleep?”
“Really good! I had a lot of dreams. Where is Mommy and Daddy?”
“They are already at work. You and I will spend the the day together just like we always do.”
Diana, Jane’s Nanny nudged her out of bed and downstairs for breakfast. She spent every waking moment of Jane’s life with her since she was 2 weeks old. Jane’s parents were workaholics. Sometimes, Diana felt as though Jane were her child. She loved her more than Jane’s own parents.
Jane and Diana sat down at the table and ate all their breakfast laughing together and planning their day. They would shower, dress and begin at the library for storytime.
At 10:00 a.m. Jane skipped into the

Oh my goodness, I almost forgot about that.”
Laughed Jane.
After the monkeys, Jane and Diana were feeding the giraffes. Suddenly, Diana turned around and Jane was gone. Diana's heart dropped to the bottom of her chest as she realized her entire life existence had vanished before her eyes. She frantically called for Jane repeatedly, only to hear the sound of her voice echoing throughout the entire zoo
“JANE!!!! JANE!!!! JAAAAAAANE!!!!
Diana screamed frantically!! She was nowhere to be found.
The next few hours passed in a horrific blur as Diana called the police and Jane’s parents. She was taken to the police station where she was questioned for what seemed like an eternity. Jane’s parents were in another room where they were also questioned. Finally, Jane’s parents and Diana were released and returned home. Jane’s parents were suspect in the eyes of the police because they seemed more aggravated about having to leave an important business meeting than the fact that their daughter was missing.
Word of Jane’s disappearance spread throughout their community. A search party was formed and many of their neighbors and fellow community members joined in with the search. Diana was the head of the search for

The only person who seemed to miss Jane was Diana. One day, Jane’s parents asked Diana to find another place to live. She had been a live in nanny and because there was no child to care for, her services were no longer needed. Diana packed her bags and began preparation in finding a new place to live. She called her friend back in Argentina and made arrangements to go back to her home country. Diana was so nervous to go that she didn’t sleep at all during the long flight. At the same time Diana was traveling, Roderigo was preparing Jane for a special

The absence of a mother in Baby’s life is without a doubt one of the most significant factor in how her life turns out. Not having a mother to guide her, encourage and mold her to become a healthy young adult is evident throughout the book as the important life lessons from a mother was never instilled. Although Baby is grateful for her father, Jules’s attempts at parenting her, she recognizes that he is unable to take care of himself, therefore unable to give Baby the nurturing environment necessary for a child to flourish. This is evident when she laments “Jules tried to be a mother, but he’d always kind of fallen short on the mark” (O’Neill, 186). Furthermore, Baby does not understand the feeling of unconditional love that mothers often have towards their children which causes her to look for love in all the wrong places. Without a mother in her life, Baby does not have someone she can lean on for some of the most basic roles of a parental figure, and she grows up feeling ashamed of what she has becomes. Hence, Baby reflects on her outcome when she states “I thought that if my mother met me now, all grown up, she would be disappointed” (O’Neill, 97). Without guidance Baby succumbs to the life of drugs, alcohol and prostitution, a fate she feels was inevitable given the lack of maternal love.…

I grunt, scowl, scratch the back of my head thoughtfully and just entered the damn room and there she was Jane laying on the bed staring at me vacantly with wide brown eyes. I sense she is nervous.…

    Euthanasia: a Moral Dilemma

    • 3345 Words

The word euthanasia is derived from two Greek words, “eu” which means “good” and “thanatos” which means “death,” thus, you have the translation “good death.” For many, when faced with a terminal disease or injury, it is all they truly want. That is, the ability to choose the right to die, in lieu of, a slow and painful death. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines Euthanasia as, “The act or practice of killing hopelessly sick or injured individuals in a relatively painless way for reasons of mercy,” and also, “The act of or practice of allowing a hopelessly sick or injured patient to die by taking less than complete medical measures to prolong life – mercy killing.” In those two separate definitions, you have the words that define the difference between active and passive euthanasia. “The act or practice of killing…” is what is termed as active euthanasia, in that it involves a person physically “doing” something to bring about the death of an individual. Whereas, “the act or practice of allowing…” is considered passive euthanasia, in that it allows a person to die. Normally, this entails the withholding or withdrawal of necessary medical equipment or medicine. Historically, both methods have evoked great emotional turmoil throughout society. Why? Because, it puts into dispute moral, cultural, social, and religious values that individual’s hold regarding their right to live, aswell as their right to die. Furthermore, individuals want to be able to control, should the need arise, their right to how they die, when they die, and where they die. The fear of lacking this control comes from the thought of dying a slow and painful death from the likes of ALS, Huntingdon’s, or terminal cancer. Likewise, the fear of being trapped in a persistent vegetative state (PVS) from injuries sustained from some form of brain trauma or infection. In brief, no-one wants nor should have to go through a death like the one experienced at the hands of…
