St. Mary’s and JSerra Catholic High School (JSCHS) have many similarities and yet, they are very different. JSerra’s giant population of stude nts tower over the 800 kids at St. Mary’s. Also, the students at JSerra are all older and much more mature. Below are more reasons on why these two schools are both similar and different. These two schools have many similarities. One of the similarities is that both of the schools are founded on religious beliefs. Both of our schools offer a weekly mass and chapel that we all are required to attend. Not only do they have this weekly experience but they a both have religion classes that can expand the horizons of the students in the classes. Here, they learned about religions from all around the world
along with their own. A second similarity is the amazing sports facilities. With the turf fields and basketball courts, students are able to play many sports. Finally, both schools have a strict uniform policy. At both schools, we are required to wear a polo shirt and shorts or pants. If we do not follow these rules, it results in a detention. Due to the reasons stated above, both St. Mary’s and JSerra are very different schools. Although these schools may seem the same, they are quite different. One of the greatest differences is the various activities offered. At JSerra, we can choose from the many sports and programs to fit what we enjoy doing rather than how we had to take specific courses at St. Mary’s. In contrast, both schools use different software and computers. JSerra provides Macs for its students in the classes that require the use of a computer. At St. Mary’s, we were given PCs in carts that were able to be moved from class to class. Finally, during lunch, we have different facilities to eat. At JSerra, we have the option to buy our food in the Bistro and sit in the center room. On the other hand, we had to sit outside at lunch tables at St. Mary’s. In conclusion, both schools share similarities and yet they are very different. Above were stated reasons on which the two schools were similar and different.
