Karlie Templeton: What Is Bigfoot Real?
Is Bigfoot Real?
By:Karlie Templeton
Have you ever heard of the legends of Bigfoot? Ever wondered if he was real, What do you think. There have been “sightings” of Bigfoot for millennium and they still continue today. The first question that we should ask ourselves is what is Bigfoot? In legends Bigfoot is a six foot tall monster that is similar to an ape/monkey and a human. Bigfoot (also known as Sasquatch) is the name given to a mythological simian, ape, or hominid-like creature that is said to inhabit forests, mainly in the Pacific Northwest. In American folklore, Bigfoot is usually described as a large, hairy, bipedal ( an animal using two legs for walking) humanoid.
Here is a story from Albert Ostman: He had gone into the mountains

“A lot of them turned out to be very ordinary animals in their natural habitats,” Sykes says. As the team reports July 1 in the Proceedings of the Royal Society B, supposed yeti and bigfoot samples turned out to come from bears (brown, black and polar), horses, raccoons, one human, some canines (the test didn’t narrow down if they were wolves or dogs), cows, sheep, a North American porcupine, a Malaysian tapir and a serow, which is a known animal similar to a goat or antelope.
But two hair samples from the Himalayas were a surprise. These hairs, both brownish in color, perfectly matched a short stretch of DNA once extracted from the jawbone of a 40,000-year-old polar bear. The hairs did not match modern polar bears. One hair came from an animal shot 40 years ago in Ladakh, India, by a hunter who reported that it behaved differently from typical brown bears. The other was collected about 10 years ago in Bhutan, 600 to 800 miles from Ladakh.” In conclusion I think that bigfoot is real. There have been countless witnesses all over the world and there are far too many sightings to them be fake. There are many scientists that have looked into this matter and found scientific proof. Take into example the Albert Ostman story and countless other sightings. I think that there have been far too many scientific things as well to prove this

The places that do have legends of Big Foot include: Canada, Nepal, Australia, and Indonesia. Some examples of these legends are found in Australia, and Indonesia. In Australia the Big Foot is known as the “Wild Man from down under” or “Yowie.” In Indonesia it is known as “orang-perdek” (Radford) but in English, “little-man.” A more specific legend comes from a Christian based idea. It is said that god disliked Big Foot because his DNA was not pure. Genetic manipulation of any kind is not tolerable in the Christian faith. Big Foot was said to be a hybrid of some kind, therefore god banished him. Big Foot was “…driven forth from among men, to dwell in cliffs of the valleys…” (Cahuft). All of these religions are what made the legend of big foot come alive, even in our homeland of New…

Instead, they live on the fringes of our society, in the parks, woodlots, and isolated forested pockets near civilization. It has been reported that some even live among the homeless and in the abandon urban blight areas of larger…

You should be asking yourself why bigfoot is fake instead of how bigfoot could be real. There is no scenario possible where bigfoot could be real. Researchers have never found any concrete proof that bigfoot is real, the best evidence ever recorded is still very poor quality and shows no prove of a modern day hominid. The descriptions of bigfoot don’t match up to the characteristics of any hominid today. Bigfoot is not real today he is not going to be real tomorrow or was he real in 1967. Over time, stories about Bigfoot have entered oral tradition and become part of regional folklore. Since 1904, people have claimed to see this creature. Informing an audience on a subject that does not exist can be difficult because the human needs to see it to believe it. Nevertheless, there are numerous pieces of evidence that lead to what people conclude to be Bigfoot. I simply would like to highlight these proofs and in the end summarize how and why a Bigfoot must and can exist in our environment. Things to be discussing later on will include: footprints, video capture, fur/data samples, and the most common piece of evidence,…

Many people believe that it is considered crazy to believe in Bigfoot, and even more crazy to look for them. They believe that the creature is nothing more than a legend. A legend started with a video in Bluff Creek california by a man named Roger Patterson, who filmed a creature walking upright on 2 legs across a dry creekbed in Bluff Creek, California. During my early life, I had never believed that a creature such as Bigfoot could possibly exist. Even after seeing this mysterious video, I was still skeptical. One day in New Hampshire I heard strange howls through the window of the room I was staying in. They made me think that something may be out there, and prompted me to start looking.…
