Kole Rodriguez: A Leadership Analysis
"A generous heart, kind speech, and a life of service and compassion are the things that renew humanity,” (Buddha). This was said over 2 thousand years ago by Buddha; a person who rose to power by his leadership skills. He had the essential attributes of a leader. The qualities that make a tremendous leader are honesty and generosity to their people.
People need honesty so we can follow our leaders through ”the ups and downs of life”. Kole Rodriguez was always positive and always telling us how it was on the football field, no matter the situation. When we were down 20 points in a game he would keep his head up and try to lead us through it. This shows how even the smallest person when they're honest with people, can be a tremendous leader.

Outstanding leaders are often those who display distinguishing charactoristics of true statesmanship. They are not people who are arrogant enough to believe that they know everything about any one subject but instead, are humble and studious. Great leaders set clear cut and realistic goals. They are the kind of people who can see the big picture and scope out a path to get there, never waivering, with great confidence, they lead the way. They are not always the charming type but instead have a way about them of convincing others to join them or to understand their philosophy of the given situation. They are often likeable and seemingly outgoing. Usually great orators, however, not always the perfect writers, such as George Washington and not always with a loud enough voice, such as Patrick Henry.…

A great leader should be so determined to achieve their goal, whatever it may be, that they will stop at nothing to make it happen. By “goal,” I must mention that I mean a positive, selfless goal—one that is backed with commendable intentions and doesn’t aim to hurt or bring down others. A leader should aim to fight for the rights of the people. A great leader is always willing to go the extra mile to do something great—and they…

I believe that a good leader/Christian leader must have many positive qualities and characteristics about themselves to rule. The six characteristics I picked that a good leader should be are; perseverance and endurance, proactive, open-minded, merciful, faithful and loyal, and patient. I believe that an excellent leader should persevere to reach his or her goals in life and in helping their subjects, and that a great leader must endure multiple hardships and struggles in order to grow stronger. Having perseverance and being proactive are closely related. A person who is proactive takes action to make something happen. To become a proactive leader, one must have perseverance and this helps them strive towards their goal. For a Christian leader, I think that being open-minded allows a leader to be more open towards new ideas and accept them so the leader can strive to be a better person morally and politically. “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” (5th Beatitude) A good Christian leader should also show mercy and not be too harsh on one’s subjects. If a leader is merciful to his or her subjects, loyalty and love will be shown to the leader.…

The very essence of leadership is finding effective ways to inspire and motivate others. A person’s particular style of leadership is influenced by the core values as well as the assumptions and beliefs of the individual. Effective leaders continuously learn from those around them and evolve their leadership style as needed to deal with diversity and changing situations. Strong leaders typically possess a combination of positive characteristics and moral values that form and define their leadership philosophy. In The Righteous Mind, Haidt spotlights three main leadership goals. Even though there are many attributes that create a quality leader, we can only focus on so many. An efficient leader will increase similarity, and not diversity. They will focus on uniting the population and making them feel like family. Another key focus is to exploit synchrony and allowing people to work together. When people perform together, they tend to trust each other more. Also, Haidt considers that leaders create healthy competition among their groups, and not individuals (Haidt 278). He states that as a society, people should compete between groups, such as a corporate rivalry, rather than individual competitions within groups. Leaders play an important role in the creation of a strong group. Therefore, people need to pick a leader with great qualities and an intricate personality. A significant characteristic of leadership is being able to communicate with the people. They should be able to send their message across through the people and connect with the audience. However, one should keep their messages simple and should be able to keep it short. Sometimes, the audience might lose interest if they are not understanding the speech. While they are sending messages, leaders also need to receive messages from the people. They need to be able to realize what the people are asking for. Also, any behaviors, actions, and decisions might impact…
