FOR RESORT AND HOTEL
SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY
SCOPE
The proposed study includes ways and strategies in developing a LAN-Based Computerized Reservation with Billing System for Resort and Hotel where all inputted records and information from guests/guests are being saved in the database. The database serves as the back-office system for storing and retrieving data/records. All queries are being processed in the database for the system’s administrator’s convenience.
The study also covers protection for all the saved records and information because of implemented database password protection. The Database Administrator (DBA) or the officer-in-charge will handle the records for security purposes.
The study implements a LAN-based technology for easy access of information between guest and server. The guest-based computer can easily manage data to the server-based computer without time consuming.
The study also implements a computerized process wherein usage of papers will be reduced. It simply means that the system is eco-friendly and convenient to use. It is designed to improve the current reservation system and to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the reservation process.
The study covers issuing of receipt for the guests as they reserved for an occasion/event. Upon paying the down payment or full payment, the system will automatically create a receipt showing the information about the guest. It will show the date and time of transaction, the amount paid, the balance to be paid and all the information of the guest.
The study covers the reservation and scheduling process wherein the system filters all the records that have the same schedule for reservation. The officer-in-charge will no longer look for the records in a log-book instead he/she will sort the records according to the schedule of reservation to avoid conflicts.
