Learner Scenario Cassie
Cassie’s dominant precision learning pattern, combine with her “need to please’ and “perfectionism” disorder is catastrophic to her assignments.
She can begin by changing her mindset about the feedback given from her last assignment. The feedback viewed in positive light can be a way for her to learn about herself and her professor. Knowing what her audience (professor) expects is a way to satisfy him/her. This will only make her writing stronger and move her away from bad writing habits.
Secondly, she needs to tether her precision learning pattern and engage her sequence, confluence, and technical reasoning learning patterns.
• Intensity her Sequence to make sure she is following order and structure of the assignment.

I have learned that revising your writing makes it way better than before. You find your mistakes and realize you can replace words such as “bring to” to a different high vocabulary word such as “cease”. I know now that there is no way to make your paper perfect. There will always be a word, words, or sentence you could change. In addition, I’ve gained a better understanding on passive and active sentences. Once I was done writing my paper, and began to reread it I found some passive sentences. All I did was revise the sentence which helped my writing flow better. Initially, I read the first paper I wrote for the Quarter 1 Writing Assessment and I noticed that I didn’t follow the directions completely. As I read on, there were many simple sentences and not many transitional words.…

Susan Wyche, a writing teacher and the founding director of the University Writing Program at CSU, is interested in the activities that writers engage in, which have direct influence on their writing. In her essay "Time, Tools, and Talismans" she gave an example of three students, I was mostly interested in Adriana because I share some of her habits and rituals. Many of Adriana's bad habits contribute to her poor performance as a writer, however she has some good habits too. She needs to eliminate or modify her bad habits, and add or improve the good habits that she already has.…
