Sequence: When I use sequential pattern on a use first basis I feel most comfortable, knowing that if I follow everything step-by-step makes completing assignments from beginning to end without interruption go smoother. Using sequential pattern in my household makes things easier, because you find myself seeking order and consistency, even when I'm not trying to. Now, that I've learned about sequence learning I notice it at work more often, with my desk. Everything has to be tidy and organised, if not I feel frustrated until I get it how I want it. I found out that I tend to do well when I know I am depended on to complete the task at hand.…
David Kolb’s learning theory sets out four distinct learning styles which are based on a four stage learning cycle.…
How I learn as a learner may differ from how another student may learn. In taking the Learning Connections Inventory Assessment my scores are as follows: Sequence 31, Precision 34, Technical Reasoning 18 and Confluence 19. In the sequence pattern I find myself often making sure things are organized and in order. With precision I ensure that everything that I touch is on point and precise with no mistakes. In using technical reasoning I try to avoid it because assembling and building my own projects tend to be a great challenge for me. Lastly, confluence is a difficult challenge for me because I have a fear of taking risks because at times they may put you in an upsetting situation.…
I felt sad for Mr. Gill, one of the main reasons being that I have personally been in a MVC myself which brought up the similar feelings, such as anxiety and chronic pain that Mr. Gill expressed. It felt like despite the differences in our age or situation, the pain he was expressing I could relate to directly. Another reason for feeling sadness for him was that he reminded me so much of my own father in appearance and nature. During the session, he referred to me as someone who is like his daughter and that he felt comfortable sharing information with me. I think this moment caused a shift in our therapeutic relationship, in which I felt even more inclined to show him respect and to provide encouragement on his development. The language barriers he faced in getting treatment made me feel angry towards the system. Unfortunately, MVC are common occurrences in our society thus, I imagined that the support systems would have been set in place for survivors to reduce the effects of physical and psychological harms.…
Secondly, she needs to tether her precision learning pattern and engage her sequence, confluence, and technical reasoning learning patterns.…
This article, “The RU-486 Abortion Pill Should Be Available to Women”, was written by Laura Fraser in 2001 for the Greenhaven Press. The issue involved with this article is whether or not the RU-486 abortion pill should be available to women in the U.S.. The conclusion Fraser came up with was yes, the RU-486 abortion pill should be available to women in the U.S., and for plenty of reasons. For example, if mifepristone becomes available, it will remove political and practical barriers so women can get abortions and physicians will not have to perform complete abortions. Also, 54% of all…
Myself as a learning is described by being a dynamic learner, I used all the learning patterns and none of my learning patterns were avoided. I typically use precision and sequence more than I do technical reasoning and confluence. Although there are times that I will use confluence and technical reasoning more than sequence and precision which is why I believe that makes me a successful dynamic learner. My learning scores are sequence twenty-six, precision thirty-two, technical reasoning twenty, and confluence twenty-one.…
Learning varies on each and everyone. Individuals can perceive and process information in different kinds of ways, which implies that the degree to which individuals learn has as much as to do with whether the learning experience is geared to their style of learning. Some of the individuals learn and develop easily in the early stage, while others are not.…
The final graduated project at Dundee College was to design and built a three tier network using Cisco equipments at the lab room, the main point of the project is to see my understanding by studying four semesters of Cisco materials. The result was great, using all my previous experience and hours of working on Cisco labs helped me to deliver a fine complete project started from the planning stage and end with Evaluation stage.…
Paragraph 2: Describe yourself as a learner in terms of how you typically use your team of Learning Patterns. Identify your Learning Pattern scores and describe the ways in which you use each Pattern. Also, explain how all four Patterns interact together as you take in the world around you and make sense of it.…
After taking my LCI assessment I learned that I am a dynamic learner. A dynamic learner is a learner who uses one to two learning patterns as a use first. I have two use fist patterns, precision (26) and technical reasoning (30). On my other patterns I scored used a needed for confluent (22) and avoid for sequence (16). I use all my learning patterns in different ways throughout my everyday life. When I am at work I use the learning pattern sequence. For example, my district manager gives me tasks to complete by the end of the week. Instead of over working myself, I break the task down in to parts. I will get my batches done today and maybe clean the office the next day. I make sure I get everything done in a timely order. Precision is the learning pattern I use at home. At home I have many chores that has to be done before my husband gets home from work. My husband gets off pretty late so I waist most of my time on social networks and talking on the phone. In the back of my mind I am thinking I have enough time to get everything done, but time flies by so fast that I never accomplish my goals before my husband get home. As for technical reasoning, I utilize that learning pattern at work too. I work in a furniture store, and sometimes I get bored during the day. I will go around the store trying…
The first week required us to assemble a team and establish the team charter; we also discussed the benefits of information systems in the work environment, such as the computers and Internet access. Almost every major company has computers and Internet access now, the company cannot run smoothly without these basic information technology systems, if the company wants to be successful, it has to connect to the rest of the world and Internet is the best way for the company to do so. But there are also some bad sides about the advanced information technology systems, websites like “Facebook, Twitter, MySpace” require people put their personal information on the website, even some people are smart enough not putting their real name or address on the website, but majority of the computer users just do not have the awareness, they put their real personal information on those websites and once the information is there, it can never be erased. We also talked about the history of the information systems in week one, such like “Roads” are the first information flow of the ancient world and other things like “Birds, Stone, Paper” all indicated the beginning of the information systems.…
This course has showed me I am a “Dynamic Learner”. I require intentional effort in order to switch between learning patterns. I use the Sequence pattern (31) at a Use First Level. In my daily life I m always doing things step-by-step and I always have to finish whatever I begin. I can’t stand having to stop something without completing it. I use the Precision Pattern (30) at a Use First Level as well. In my daily life I have to admit I do ask a million and on questions. I love to be accurate but at the same time I have to be correct too. I use Technical Reasoning (19) at a Use as Needed Level. Even though I rarely use this patters there are times when do like to work alone or don’t like writing things down. Even though it may be rare, I do have my moments just like everyone else. I use the Confluence pattern (18) at a Use as need level as well. Being that I’m not a big fan of taking risk I will have to admit I do have my moments. One time I can say I use the Confluence pattern a Use First Level is when it comes to doing the same thing over and over. That would definitely have to be a pet peeve of mine.…
I have come to learn that we all possess caring minds, listening skills, sincere attitudes, and the utmost willingness to clarify things. I believe that I can develop those effective communication skills further as I work as a teacher. My biggest concern is the parents rejecting my sincere attitude to improve communication in and out of the classroom environment, and in doing so, refuse to listen or abide to classroom rules. Although I am not sure whether the four characteristics of the effective communication skills can resolve any conflicts with angry parents, I would like to experiment with each aspect, especially because no one is the same. Therefore, building a trustful, symbiotic relationship with the parents in the beginning…
Examining the different concepts surrounded around learning and cognition and how they relate to each other will be the main focus of the paper. Giving a true definition of what learning really is and how behavior determines how someone learns will provide enlightenment on how learning can be achieved when being done according to one’s learning abilities and cognition.…
