Finally the biggest difference between high school and college is aid toward becoming better prepared for the new material. My high school did not have free tutoring, though the teachers sometime would offer to help. Even though I was the type to work independently on my work, I was extremely hesitant about letting a person know that I needed help. Since College requires critical thinking and the material can be difficult, I have stepped out of my comfort zone and began to seek for help. For example, I use the Writing Center for my English class material. I have grown too asked for help when it is needed. This is another way I am improving.

The way I go about certain things have changed. The way I studied has improved majorly in college. In high school, I rarely studied. I would study for the final exam or a midterm, but I realized that would not slide at Spelman. When I first started studying in college, I was focused on how long I studied and not the content of what I was studying. Having the deeper meaning in the work and the context of what I am studying is key. Along the lines of studying comes with changing my procrastination. Procrastination is still an obstacle that I have to overcome, but I am working on changing…

Education is one of the most important assets in our lives in order to be successful in this world. In pre-school and kindergarten, children prepare for elementary school. Kids learn how to depend on teachers instead of their parents and work with friends. In elementary school, children work with larger groups of people and develop their minds in preparation for middle school. As students transition from middle school to high school, they become more independent and learn how to use their time wisely and work by themselves; all of these changes help prepare students for college. However, I became prepared for college the most in high school through academic programs such as taking advanced placement classes, listening to the advice from my art teacher, and developing smarter study habits to pursue my goals.…

Even after I had my license, I would create reasons to have my parents transport me places. Now I am able to drive comfortably. I also have learned how to pump gas and use a credit card. Perhaps my biggest change in society is my understanding of how people view me. I can control the way people perceive me, and it is important to present the best version of myself.
