Learning Style Essay
Do you ever find yourself moving while trying to study? Do you click your pen or tap your foot while trying to do homework or listen to a lecture? If you have answered yes to these questions you could possibly be a kinesthetic learner. If this sounds like you read the rest of this paper to find out the history, characteristics and strategies of a kinesthetic learner. Before taking the Learning style Quiz I would have told you that I was a visual learner. I am better with written instructions more than I am with verbal. I love when I receive handouts and diagrams. After taking this quiz I have learned that I am more of a kinesthetic learner. I always have to be hands on and doing something. What I mean by this is when I am studying I am either moving in my chair or I am using my finger as a reading guide. I always thought that it was just my ADHD that made me do this but now I have learned that it is a way of learning. As a Kinesthetic learner you have to be doing something to learn. There are multiple strategies that can help you learn as a kinesthetic learner. In this paper I will go over four strategies that will assist you as a kinesthetic learner. Another strategy that is good for a kinesthetic learner is “working in time frames of 20-25 minutes at a time” (Hassenpflug,A.(2013)). This will help you stay focused and not have your brain wonder to other things. The last strategy that I am going to tell you about is using your
