Armadillidiidae is a family of woodlice, a terrestrial crustacean group in the order Isopoda. Unlike members of other woodlouse families, members of this family can roll into a ball, ability they share with the outwardly similar but unrelated pill millipedes and other animals. It is this ability which gives woodlice in this family their common name of pill bugs,[1] doodle bugs, or roly polies. The best-known species in the family is Armadillidium vulgare, the common pill bug.…

The animals consist of herbivores ranging in different sizes, many in which are grassers. About 2 million herbivores live in the Savanna. These include about 40 species of mammals and nearly 450 species of birds. There is a large diversity of hoofed animals like antelopes, buffalos, zebras and rhinos located here. Similar to plants, animals also have to adapt to their surroundings. This is due to the weather, predators, plants and their surroundings. Trees grow tall and their leaves are located on the highest level of the trees, therefore, animals needs to have higher necks to reach them. Other possible adaptations could be tough teeth in order to chew their food and faster speed in order to catch food. An example would be cheetahs, they would need to run fast to catch their food and ostriches would need to run fast in order to get away from their predators such as cheetahs. An interesting fact that I read during my research about African Savanna fauna was that monkeys that live in this biome spend most of their time on the floor rather than up in the high trees. As known in other biomes, monkeys play sleep and do other things in trees but in the Savanna it’s…

Most animals have long legs or wings to sustain long journeys migrating across the savanna. Many animals have to migrate every few days to stay away from weather conditions, predators, or having an offspring. Plants have adapted to sustain standing in water for long period of time. Most of Brazil’s cerrado is filled with short twisted trees. Australia’s cerrado mostly has Eucalyptus trees. There are many types of grasses that also can be found: bermuda grass, elephant grass, and even rhode grass. There is even a special type of tree that we use to make bows, or tea with and that is the acacia tree. Most Plants on the savanna has long thick roots to reach deep down for water when there is a drought. Brazil’s grassland is mostly Bermuda grass. The hardest thing about the Savanna is the life living in it. Most animals have to thrive on survival, and alertness. Life is very hard to survive in the savanna because there are always predators looking for its next meal. Different animals here have different ways of surviving and staying away from predators. Some use the environment for protection and others use fighting tactics. No matter what kind of animal you are, there is always a target on your back. The type of soil in the savanna is porous, this has…

    Vietnam War

The Vietnam War throughout history has been debated as whether or not it was a necessary war. Some say the war is considered necessary because President Truman was simply trying to help stop the increase of communism in Southeast Asia so that communism wouldn’t spread to other nations. While others say the war was unnecessary because it was the first war the United States lost. In the text, Major Problems of American History, it was stated that people even consider America’s involvement in the Vietnam War its greatest failure as a nation (Hoffman 427). There will be many thoughts and ideas about whether the Vietnam War was considered necessary and no one will truly ever have the same answer. However, I believe the Vietnam War fueled violent antiwar movements and brought two presidents to shame, which makes for an unnecessary war.…
