2. What are some key demographics about my audience, such as age, gender, family situation, etc.? Male, Grandmother is suffering with a debilitating illness
3. How much does my audience know about the topic? Jeff knows that there is a professional conference this weekend at a nearby convention center as well as Nina Hernandez has covered for him three times in the last two months.
4. How much formality does my audience prefer? If my understanding of formality were correct I would say that Jeff does not expect much formality. By him leaving the phone message shows that he used an informal medium
5. How do I expect my audience to react to this message? Jeff will not be very pleased that his request for emergency leave is going to be denied but he may understand the reason why.
6. What are my audience’s values in relation to this message? What do they care about most? Jeff values his grandmother’s well being but he also values his job.
7. What do I want my audience to think, do, feel, or believe after reading my message? I want Jeff to know that Nina has also requested this weekend off and that it is only fair that she have the weekend off because she has covered for him three times in the last two months. If he does not work I will be short staffed.
8. Are there any benefits for my audience that is related to this message? If he helps with this busy weekend all goes and we well we could potentially have more business throughout the year.
