Unit 201 Manage own performance in a business environment
Outcome 2: Understand how to behave in a way that supports effective working
Provide explanations which demonstrate your knowledge of EACH of the below criteria and how you can relate this to what you do in your workplace;
2.1 Explain the purpose (why does it need to done?) and benefits of agreeing and setting high standards for your own work.
The purpose of agreeing and setting high standards for my own work is so that I will be focused on spending my time working to the best of my ability and ensures I am prevented from making excuses for not trying my hardest with everything I do. It is important in my job role as maintenance administrator that every task I complete is completed to the highest possible standard, for example; when dealing with a guest calling about a problem in the cottage they are staying at it is essential that I do everything I possibly can to resolve the issue, not only temporarily but permanently so that the issue will not affect further guests staying in the cottage at later dates.
The benefits of agreeing and setting high standards for my own work are that it ensures everything is completed efficiently, to a high quality and promptly. This has a knock on effect to other people in the office, if I complete all of my work to the highest possible standard and efficiently then it will make it easier for other people in the office to complete their work more efficiently, for example; if I were to complete a document of necessary contact details of the cottage owners and I were to complete this to the highest standards with no mistakes and promptly, then if a colleague were to need a cottage owners details immediately due to an emergency it would be easier for them to obtain those details.
2.2 Describe the different ways of setting high standards for your own work. What sort of things do you do? Think about
