1. The novel Life of Pie written by, Yann Martel’s tells the story of a young man named Pi, to be specific sixteen years old, which grows up in the south indian city of Pondiocherry. Pi was raised by a wealthy family, father being Santos Patel, and mother being Gita Patel, which owned a zoo, and that is where the Tiger(Richard Parker) comes in play. The next aspect of the story goes as follows: since all facet of government power was taken by Indira Ghandi in India, and Pi father did not want to be involved in politics, so they closed the zoo and decided to go to Canada, as a family. Soon after the family decided to leave to Canada, a storm shockingly happens, and this is where the story elevates to the next level. As the family as a hole died Pi and couple of animals from the zoo were alive with pi, on a life boat. As the story develops Pi survives a shipwreck for 227 days, then at a young age was left alone ,on a life boat with a male tiger named Richard Parker. In order to live, this young man noticed that Pi must train the tiger, and to my surprise that is exactly what Pi did. On the journey to going to land, Pi experiences many obstacles in the journey to survival, but ends up vanquishing and ends at last at the beach of Mexico safely.
