Love Has No Labels Analysis
On a day filled with love, next to the ocean side people are walking around happy and enjoying the time they are spending with their loved ones. From the very beginning this video displays its intent of spreading happiness and love to those who are viewing it. By taking place on Valentine’s Day it complements the message and people are more inclined to be empathetic and caring of one another. The crowd waits in anticipation of what lies behind the screen, which only shows what seems to be an x-ray of people on the other side. Once the individuals from behind the screen step out onto the front stage and reveal themselves the crowd cheers in harmony because they are celebrating love regardless of age, race, gender, disability, or religion. Despite …show more content…
As a matter of fact, public service advertising can be traced back to them: “Since 1942, the Ad Council has offered trusted advice and inspiring calls-to-action. In fact, we created the category of public service advertising, and our icons and slogans are woven into the very fabric of American culture” (Ad Council). Having such a reputable organization that knows how to successfully reach out to an audience is a huge part of why this video was effective. Of course, pathos was another big factor in the video with all the emotion in the air. I believe the driving force behind this video was its ability to reach that soft part in everyone’s heart. Since it took place on Valentine’s Day it was clear the message was love and the atmosphere was covered in warmth. Lastly, the logical appeal of the video is that we are all people who share the ability of love and should not judge one another for who we love. I believe this is effective because most people have experienced some type of love in their life, whether it be romantic, friendships, or family. Love isn’t really something that can be controlled, it just happens and that is why we should accept others regardless of who they …show more content…
The center of attention was the mysterious screen which showed an x-ray image of what was behind it. The audience was eagerly waiting to see what would appear. I think this added a dash of suspense which contributed to the overall effectiveness of the video. If they were to come out on stage first and then go behind the screen, it would not nearly have the same impact as it did the way it was originally done. Including the crowd reaction also impacted the video by displaying the effect it had on the audience. For those watching the video it shows the joy spreading throughout the audience, which reciprocates onto the viewers. I couldn’t help but feel happy watching a video where there is so much positivity and contentment. Nicholas Christakis, a Harvard professor of medical sociology and medicine, says “Happiness may be limitless. Just as someone’s bad mood can rub off on you, positivity, too, may spread” (Cerretani). This speaks to why the video seems to give off such a powerful feeling of joy. Along with the visuals the tone is shown through the music in the background. This helped to create an uplifting atmosphere filled with

The ethics triangle is a model to follow to help militate against unethical decision-making. If Mayor Burns used this model it might have helped him make better decisions. When there is no moral discernment of what is right or wrong, a public official or administrator needs to analyze the situation carefully. However, in the following case study this does not appear to be something Mayor Burns practiced. For the purposes of this paper the case study “Gotta Love Those Bread & Butter Unions” will be analyzed. The source for all subsequent quotes is from this case study.…

This commercial relies heavily on this appeal. Without the emotional aspect within their ad, I believe it would not have had the impact that it did. The man creates the persona of each and every one of us. The man appears sad throughout the commercial, but I believe it represents a sadness of not knowing how to help someone. He gains such a following of those in need, but still appears sad and doesn’t know how or what to do.…

There is a certain pain that is felt whenever a loved one passes. Beyond sadness, it is hurt, it is anger, it is confusion, and an almost unidentifiable emptiness where the lungs should be. People who have not experienced such loss have a happy, if hazy, view of the world. Then, there are those who lose someone… a major someone... so very special. They do eventually move on, but the pain alters them forever. Ed Sheeran, in the song “Afire Love,” illustrates how the loss of an individual can impact everyone around them, young and old.…

There are no prerequisites for love and belonging, we are deserving of love and belonging simply by reason of existence. This is one of the abounding stunning ideas found in Brené Brown’s work. However, this was such a foreign idea to my way of being and of relating to the world that I had no salutation node towards it nor an A-ha moment. Only after repeated readings and listening did the clouds disperse. Theoretically I recognized its truth, but at some level I felt this truth did not refer to me.…

“ Love Calls Us to the Things of This World” by Richard Wilbur is a poem about our reason for living. The reason we get up every morning and go about our day according to Wilbur is love. The title of this poem clearly is making that statement. The title however is not quite enough to portray exactly what it is that we are being called back from. When we are sleeping, our souls become part of a peaceful and pure realm. In contrast the waking world is full of stress and undesirable challenges, a world in which the soul has no desire of being part of. Using highly refined diction and structure, Wilbur portrays the contrast between the two worlds and our soul's reason for accepting the return to reality.…

In the video it is very noticeable that the speaker is talking in an admonish tone. He is talking about an extremely serious problem, so to be more effective that tone is perfect for the video. The narrator is trying to make everyone understand the seriousness of this problem, and he does. From beginning to start he keeps the same tone which helps the audience put extra attention. The video sure it’s short but it’s straight to the point. This days people don’t feel like watching ten or even five minutes long videos. Making the video thirty seconds long was perfect.…

The effect that was made in the students facing these problems in their schools was very terrifying, some of them were in a point of being embarrassed of their heritage. They were embarrassed of being Mexican Americans, and this was something that had to be changed. The rise up of the Chicano students to demand their district officials for equal education rights in their school, was a movement that made the Chicano voice strong not only at East LA but all over the country. This is one point everyone should be able to understand, the video gives us the struggles Mexican Americans were facing at the time, and how they became together to overcome this issue is an example of unity something that we need to do now a days to become stronger and make our voices heard as a…

The use of critical thinking is imperative when trying to persuade others. One must effectively use the three types of appeals in order to be successful.
