Marching band is analogous to a machine. All of the components must properly function in order to complete a certain task. Therefore, each member should possess dedication in order to produce a triumphant show and capture the audience’s attention. If one member fails, the whole organization collapses. Through these experiences, I learned that determination and dedication contributes to a successful lifestyle. Otherwise, dreams could never exist.
In addition to dedication and determination,
band taught me organization. Our group would participate in three-hour rehearsals, football games, and weekend competitions. In addition, enrolling in honors and advanced placement courses resulted in long studying sessions and difficult homework problems. Since I valued my academics and activities, I learned to organize my schedule. As a result, I managed to obtain a 4.0 GPA and develop memories from friends.
In conclusion, marching band affected my life. As a result, I will be able to join multiple organizations, promote cultural diversity, and achieve success in Purdue’s respected academic programs.
