Engineers at NASA have designed a curiosity rover it is about the size of a small SUV, weighs approximately 2,000 pounds, and takes pictures of rocks and other things within a 7 foot distance. It took $2.5 billion to create this spacecraft.
The curiosity rover was launched into space from Cape Canaveral, Florida on November 26th, 2011. It successfully landed on August 6th, 2012. NASA had to take many precautions to make sure the curiosity rover would safely land on Mars. They could exist and be mean scary aliens that shoot lasers out of their eyes that penetrate your skin, or they could be sweet, nice, interesting aliens. Then again we don’t know if they exist or not. Getting to experience what life is like on Mars would be pretty neat if you ask
