Mason Lee Childress Interview Essay
Fear has a unique way of taking over our entire body, well at least it does for 20 year old Mason Lee Childress. Since the begging of our relationship he has had no problem showing how terrified he is of spiders. Regardless of their size, they could be no bigger than a bottle cap, and he’d still run the other way when coming across one. I’ve asked him how long he's had this fear towards spiders, and he began to explain how he wasn't always afraid of them until he was around 6 or 7 and blames his sibling for it. Mason believes that it was Cody his older brothers fault, and I believed him. Cody is that big brother like from the movies who can convince his little brother to do about almost anything. Mason explains to me in detail how he once was dared by Cody to jump over an old bush at his grandparents house, at first Mason wasn't considering it but then here comes Cody taunting him on how he couldn't do it because he was just a little baby, and was too afraid. Of course Mason was now embarrassed, and felt like he had to go through with it. After ten minutes Mason prepares to jump it, and right as he was going Cody pretends to run into him, Mason tries stopping, but it was too late. Mason was stuck in this old bush bruised up and panicking with web all over …show more content…
We were on our way to school one morning, and I notice a glare shining in the air and something tiny coming down form the ceiling of his car right away I panicked as well because I know once Mason saw it all hell was going to break loose. Once Mason notices the little spider climbing its way down on its web he begins to scream like a little baby. Mason seemed to have forgotten he was driving at the time because he took his hand off the wheel to shield his face like someone was coming to attack him. I had to kill the spider myself by just grabbing it with my bare palm. Till this day I get upset thinking of the

There is the fight or flight that every living being uses, animal and human. Humans often have other bodily reactions to fear, such as fast heart rate, sweaty palms and many others. Often times, the same person can have different reactions to different situations. For example, when I take a big test or write an essay, my hands begin to sweat. Not only does this help me calm down, I am able to focus on the task at hand. I have had a lasting fear of “The back room” in my house, it is a room that is unfinished and is used for storage purposes. I fear the room because it has a decent amount of old stuff, the room is dusty, and it is a dwelling for many arthropods and arachnids. I do not hate the room itself, because it holds the water heater and all the tools to make my house work smoothly, but I fear what lies behind the boxes, the old board games, and the unknown inside it all. Every time I have to go back in the room, I shiver and shudder and pray that there is not any sudden movement that passes my feet. While I shiver at the thought of bugs and the unknown I also have a terrible fear of heights. My fear is so bad I can barely go on the final step of a six foot ladder. I refuse to go into the attic and I scoff at the idea of helping my sister put Christmas lights on the roof. When I do come to a situation when I am on a rooftop or on a mountain overlooking a valley, not only am I…

Phobias can develop through an individual’s experience. I have a fear of snakes and I developed this phobia through a personal encounter with a snake. One summer during my first camping trip with my family, I was bitten by a snake. I had an enjoyable time and it was exciting to sleep on an inflatable bed in the middle of the woods. This was an experience to remember. I had a strange feeling one day when my sister and I decided to take an early morning walk through the trails.…

Interviews with suspects can be very intriguing, especially with high profile cases. As I watch the interview with Huddleston it reminded me of previous interviews I had conducted with lesser crime cases. The similarities are there, when the suspect tried to get the interviewer to be sympathize with their story. It’s a mix of emotions and doubt for the interviewer. Surely during Huddleston interview there was doubt if he had committed the murder.…

I was first to arrive at the wreckage. It was a head on collision caused by a dust storm. My brother had been slowing down when the Ford truck appeared out of nowhere sitting in the middle of the road. The first thing I noticed was that my brother’s girlfriend was hobbling around with one foot twisted a sick way. She was walking on her ankle and not her foot at all, I had come to realize as I dragged her away from my brother and into my truck. I had to do that because my brother was starting to panic and I couldn’t let him go into shock. I noticed blood on the airbags when I first glanced at the wreckage but thought nothing of it. As soon as she was safe I ran to my brother and he said calmly, “Mac I’m stuck, it’s bad, it’s real bad.”…
