Math In My Daily Life Math is used in people’s lives at all times, all over the world. Whether it’s a scientific mathemical problem, to just your simple day to day tasks in life, math is always involved. As an average person I use math whether it’s at home, at work or at school. I am the mother of three wonderful headaches called Nayeli, Ailen and Dominic. When it comes to my personal home life, I use math in all different ways. Just today I decided to make pancakes for breakfast. I needed to make sure the amounts of water equaled the correct amount of pancake mix. If you like thicker pancakes, you add more pancake mix or subtract, if you would prefer a thin mix. Another task known to all adults is calculating your bills. I think all basic math functions are used is those equations. You’ve got to add bills, subtract income, multiply interest rates and divide by the number of pay dates. Now that’s what I call a stressful multiplication problem. I use math more extensively in my place of employment. I am the funding manager at a security system company which means, I make sure the company is paid properly. My main responsibility is to prepare a weekly funding report for the CEO of the company. I must add the price for each piece of equipment installed at each customer’s home and place that total on the report for each installation. I have to add up the price of their equipment, multiply by the sales tax and add them together to get the customer’s total. Being the funding manager also requires my answering billing questions. I have customers wanting to buy-out their 36 month agreement which in turn, requires for me to subtract the amount of months they’ve fulfilled on their agreement and then multiply their monthly monitoring charge, by those months. Overall, math is very significant when it comes to my position. As shown, math is used in so
