I was employed on a temporary basis as a Personal Shopper over Christmas and New Year. This work involved preparing orders placed on-line for home delivery. This job has to be done in a fast yet efficient way as orders on-line increase over this time. Despite working alone there is still customer contact and I learnt that it is important to be polite and friendly at all times and that I can work under pressure.

This involved working on the checkout, handling money and interacting with customers on a regular basis. This position, although temporary helped me develop my confidence and inter-personal skills and dealing with unexpected questions from customers. Handling money allowed me to demonstrate my responsibility and trustworthiness.

It was a very busy time of the year. It was a very hard one month but there was nothing more satisfying then the first pay check, then I knew I did a good job. There is no embarrassing job if you learn to do it with pride and respect.…
