Maze Runner Book Comparison
The book The Maze Runner by James Dashner is not much like the movie in my opinion. I like the book better than the movie because is has more details and the movie doesn’t have everything the book has. The movie is about Thomas the protagonist who has is put into a maze with a bunch of other teenagers and has to search the maze for a way out. He has no memory of his past and all he can do it try and find the exit to the maze. The book and movie are similar but not that closely the same to me. Some differences are through the whole book Thomas has very little memory of what his life was before he was put into the maze. In the movie he starts to remember things a whole lot faster, almost as soon as the movie starts where that's not what happens in the book. I like the book …show more content…
Usually in movies there will be an actor that looks nothing like how they are described in the book. In this case most of the actors look how i pictured them from the book. They also had the same attitude and personality as they did in the book. I think the movie did a good job of comparing this part. Another part of the book I liked was the big mutant creatures they called grievers. In the book it was a pretty broad description of them and everyone probably imagined them differently. In the movie I think they did a good job of creating it and making them alike. Although it was not exactly how I thought. I thought it would be hard for them to recreate this part but they did better than I expected and they were a like. In the end the book is better than the movie is but they are similar with some big differences. The differences are too major for me to prefer the movie over the book. I know that movies have to be shorter and move along faster than the book does but I think the movie could have been better. Both are really good and i enjoyed them but I personally think that the book is better than the

I find the book’s ending much more intriguing. In my opinion, the book is better and much more interesting than the movie. In the movie, they left out a lot of scenes. They left out the scene where Freak had his birthday party and had a seizure. They also left out the scene where Freak got the police, and Max was in the burnt house…

Robert Duvall did an excellent job playing the role as Bull Meecham- or the ‘Great Santini’. He has a very tough love relationship with his family. Then there was Blythe Danner who plays Lillian; she also did an fantastic job with her character. Even though in the book she had red hair, and in the movie she was a blonde, they displayed her as the same woman who has a big heart, and has to help her family get through hard times with him. Last but not least Michael O’Keefe was my favourite character; I was most impressed by his performance in the movie matching so carefully the character in the book. There was a character in the movie that they had left out though- it was Sam Wertzberger, I thought he would have been a great addition to the movie especially because he was such an important character- he showed that people would discriminate against religion. Having Stan Shaw, as Toomer Small in the movie was good because Toomer’s character and what he went through showed how injustice racism…

In both the book and the movie, the plot is very similar but is also different. They both have lots of similarities and lots differences. In the book and movie, the plot is similar in the way that Leslie dies when use swings across the creek. It is different in the way that in the movie, Jess gets his hopes up to become the fastest kid in his class, than Leslie comes along and beats him. The plot also changes because the movie has less time to fit everything in that is in the book.…

In conclusion, there are more differences than similarities. One of the major differences in the movie was the story of how Eric Morse got dropped out of the 14th floor of an apartment building. Another major difference in the movie was how much David Issay appeared in the movie more so than the book. David Issay appeared more in the movie than the book. I believe that there were more differences than…

First of all, one of the biggest reasons the movie is better than the book is because of the quality of the flashbacks. In the book the flashbacks were more set in the past and much longer, sometimes too drawn out and a little boring for how much background story there is for just one day dream, whereas in the movie the daydreams are a bit shorter but more set in the present and more affect by what he does in that moment with little background because of how short they are and how close to the present they may be. The daydreams are usually much more exciting in the movie as well, whereas in the book it's set back to just a boring doctor surgery, that was…

The book is superior to the film in many ways. Both of these versions of the story are very well fulfilled, however I believe that book has more detail and explains the story better. The book is superior to the film because the author described various facets of Amir’s emotional world, it showed Baba dying, and included important parts of the struggle Amir and Sohrab went through to get to America together.…

The Maze Runner was written by James Dashner in 2009, “he had an idea when going to bed about a bunch of teenagers living inside an unsolvable Maze full of hideous creatures, in the future, in a dark, dystopian world. It would be an experiment, to study their minds.” Thomas finds himself in a glade with no memory of who he is or how he got there. He arrives in an elevator metal box which returns every month with new food, weapons and a new boy. In the glade there are walls surrounding them with high concrete doors that close every night. Outside of these walls is a maze, each day some of the boys go through the doors and into the maze, these boys are called “Runners.” The Runners are trying to solve the maze by running as fast as they can while tracking the walls as they move each night and trying to find an exit. The maze contains…

Firstly, I will explain about his background. Dashner was born in 1972 and lived with his 5 sibilings. Dashner loved books as a child and has stated he had read a large range of books. Dashner wrote THE MAZE RUNNER in 2009 and now lives with his wife and four kids. In the next part, I will explain about Dashner’s plot and influences for this book, starting with the plot.
