Motivation is the key to success in my eyes which makes it essential that I achieve my goal of being able to adapt my imagination and get involved with the media.
Having done Moving Image Arts in GCSE I was able to edit, cut and put together a production of my own doing.
This ignited my creative flame and presented my imaginative side. I studied both English Language and Literature for GCSE as well allowing me to place my mind on a page and express myself using only words. Making it a goal of mine to get involved with the media I chose Media Studies in A level to carry on with my creative side and let my imaginative thoughts thrive.
Taking part in work experience with my school, I attended a local newspaper which took charge of writing out local stories and going to court cases relating to crimes. This gave me the responsibility of taking note of every detail that was mentioned or made known throughout a court case. I was also able to help write out news article in the ways that would interest and intrigue the public. This enticed me to investigate on what makes the public tick; what interests them with the information the media provides. Furthermore, I took part in A level Health and Social Care work experience at a primary school which also allowed me to interact with young students. This allowed me to gain a further insight on communication towards the public and increased my interpersonal skills. Work experience has further driven my desire to get involved with Media
Production.
Currently being class rep, it is my duty to make sure all students are up to date with current school news. This increased my interactive skills and allowed me to gain understanding of others and how they feel about the going-on around them.
Being a big lover of the social networking sites I am able to study people and the way they act. Firstly coming into contact with the media site, 'Youtube' when I was 12, I became keen to create ideas of my own. I taught and trained myself on how to edit videos and make them creative as I can by using 'Sony Vegas' editing software. I was able to easily pick up new ways on becoming more creative. Ever since then I have always had a spark for maintaining a spontaneous imagination. Watching documentaries in most of my free time I can learn more about life and that is what intrigues me to get involved with the media as so much goes on.
I also attended a UTV event for my media studies class which featured a news reporter explaining his role in the job and why it would be a good idea to get involved with the media. From this I learnt how to approach and talk to the public, gaining tips on interactive skills. Media is a big part of both my work and personal life. Everything happening in the world of today will always be seen in the media, or heard. Creativity is key and I wish to develop mine by getting involved with the media.
