Lockheed Martin is a well renowned American aerospace, defence, security, and advanced technology company with international interest. It was formed by the merger of Lockheed Corporation with Martin Marietta in March 1995. . Marillyn Hewson is the current president and Chief Executive Officer .

You work for a professional organisation for marketers. One of the activities that the organisation undertakes is to evaluate the marketing activities of different companies and produce a list of ‘A’-classed marketers. You are asked to carry out research into two possible contenders for inclusion on this list. You need to complete the following tasks as part of your research project. P1 describe how marketing techniques are used to market products in two organisations.

Task 1: Write a report of not less the two A4 pages describing how marketing techniques (in the box below) are used to market products in two organisations. You need to choose one products or service from each organisation.(choose contrasting organisations)

1. growth strategies (diversification, product development, market penetration or market development, Ansoff’s Matrix);
2. survival strategies;
3. branding (importance in influencing buyer behaviour, brand building, positioning, brand extension);
4. relationship marketing (definition, difference between transactional marketing and relationship marketing, value of lifetime customer)

P2 describe the limitations and constraints of marketing

Task 2: Describe the constraints and limitations under which marketers operate, making use of examples to explain your points. What laws have been broken? Look on the trading standards website for constraints and the advertising standards agency.
