Blood flowing out of my skull and hands. I can feel my whole head throbbing. The surges of pain continue over and over. I decide to pull strength from within to get up to check out the quad. I soon realize that the crack I heard was the snapping of the axle rod forcing the tire to be bent and rendering the quad un-drivable. Leaving the quad behind, I decided to walk back to camp. Of course I forgot my phone back at camp not planning that I would be taking a mouthful of dirt. As I walk I notice a white figure out of the corner of my eye. Since I was hurt and not sensible, my first thought was that this figure is a flesh seeking monster ready to gobble up my entire body whole. Given the fact that I actually believed that, I began to quicken my pace from a walk to a jog to a sprint. Just as I was ready to fall over and die of exhaustion, I notice an orange glow near me. This time it wasn’t a monster it was light coming from my camp’s fire. After my lengthy journey, I reached my dad and he rushed over to me baffled by my injury. With tears in my eyes, I sat down and began to regurgitate the whole experience. That night as I drift off into the abyss that was my dreams, I settled on the fact that the white figure was only the tail of a squirrel. I guess I deserved that fright given the fact that I did invade his
