Most Meaningful Accomplishment
My most meaningful accomplishment has been in the recent year. Winning the election for Florida A&M Universities Student Government Association Vice President, for it to be stripped away from us from out past University President. My accomplishment was of course acquiring our position after a 6-month period, but the greatest accomplishment I’ve witnessed was resilience within myself. Through this imperial experience, I’ve realized the importance of fighting for whats right. For this reason, I’ve realized that it’s necessary to do whats morally correct -- this was how I measured my success. Not by the position, but how I went about handling the turmoil of not getting everything you want when you want it. This situation served as an example,

All my goals lead into each other helping me grow and develop into a better person that can now be ready for change. By having the right mindset and setting out to do the goals I said I would I have overcome so much in such a little amount of time. Just like how William Pollard said it best in his quote that I had quoted earlier in my paper about those who are not ready to make that change will be left behind and I for sure do not want to be left…

In all of the horror of standing up and speaking in front of a crowd of thousands, I had finally reached the zenith of my juvenile existence and ascended into adulthood. The next day did not even matter, as I had achieved a victory that no one could take from me. However, I did still want to win that office, and it eventually came time for that almost dreaded moment of the big reveal of who would be the next North Carolina State Senior Beta Club President. Moreover, the minutes prior to the big reveal seemed like hours and I could feel my heart racing; but suddenly the moment had come and out of left field I heard my name announced as the next State President. Then I was overtaken with a jubilant attitude that I had never felt before and complete awe seized me as I could barely get out my acceptance speech through my ecstatic emotions, and it was during that weekend that I experienced the marvelous feeling of reaching…

The accomplishment I am going to write about is becoming Miss Tree City 2014. Miss Tree City is a local pageant for my community’s fall festival. I decided to write about this because I am not the typical pageant girl. I live on a horse farm and care for and show horses. I am probably more of the stereotypical tomboy. I have…

There are many accomplishments in my life of which I am proud, however there are two for which I am especially proud. Those being, having the opportunity to play varsity shortstop in high school, and having good enough grades to be nominated for, and to be admitted into, the National Honor Society. These accomplishments make me proud because they are goals that I was able to set and accomplish for myself. These are successes that not everyone can say that they have achieved.…

To be able to succeed in everything is a goal most people have for themselves. With success comes happiness, comfortability, and a sense of accomplishment. This is my greatest goal in life, to be able to make something of myself; to become someone no one else could imagine me being. This kind of motivation and perseverance that I display is what I believe can make me an excellent candidate for the National Honors Society. I have always set outstanding goals for myself, putting the pressure on myself I needed to so that I would get the outcome I desired. This strength shows through my grades and the rigorous classes I take, as well as my growth in character. Not only do I excel in my perseverance, but I believe I am a strong leader here at Central Dauphin, someone who is not only helpful in the classroom, but also in the community.…

The first would be my administrative tasks as a Resident Assistant. I consistently turned in papers, forms, and completed task on time or before the deadline. This also included emailing and updating my supervisor about any resident conflicts or situations that occurred. I feel that this is an accomplishment because I was able to keep the line of communication open to my supervisor and ensured that all information was given in a timely manner. Another accomplishment I achieved over the past semester was being flexible to my other Resident Assistants. There were many times when last minute another Resident Assistant needed to switch duty days or had an emergency situation and I was able to cover for them. For example, during the semester one Resident Assistant needed to go to the hospital last minute and needed someone to cover. Despite it being last minute and on a Friday night, I was able to take the duty day. This is an accomplishment because I felt like I was a vital member of the team and that people could rely on me to step up to the plate when need…

For an individual to be authentic and successful to oneself and the community, an individual must first have a basis for which to base the ideas on for comparison. In order for a clear and precise definition of a word, sometimes examples serve as a guide for a better understanding to more easily comprehend the full scope of the concept. In/Out group is tudied thoroughly in the book Perceptions of Ingroup and Outgroup Variability: A Meta-Analytic by Brian Mullen and Li-Tze Hu which demonstrates the psychological effects on the phenomenon. David G. Myers provides many examples of conformity and prejudice in an excerpt from his book Social Psychology that helps to define success and authenticity. Both topics are revisited in Glenn C. Loury’s Free at Last? A Personal Perspective on Race and Identity in America, where the author describes how real he and others are and how that plays a part in society. When Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his infamous I Have a Dream speech in front of thousands of supporters in 1963, there is no one that can doubt that there is only authenticity and success in his words. Sometimes success and authenticity can be found within their failures and some authenticity is found within fraud as within the movie Crash written, directed and produced by Paul Haggis. Within the realms of different texts, the definition, motivation, understanding, balancing, and application of authenticity and success are easily recognizable.…

Over the years I have repeatedly proven my dedication to my success and will continue to do so throughout my life. I consider myself to be an individual who has, despite limited resources managed to become one of the top students of her graduating class. Having immigrant parents, I translated for my parents constantly and was the only one capable of filling out important documents due to my parent's inefficiency in the English language. Everyone has had different struggles but we all seem to develop differently within these hardships. With these different stories, one can create a powerful diverse environment bringing beauty and recognition to all those involved. This is my life story……

“Two years ago I went to summer camp for Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot children. When I told my best friend about it she laughed at me, so I didn’t want to go. But my daddy said I had to go and see for myself what it was like. I went there expecting to see monsters and instead I saw children just like me. We played games and told jokes. We had the same hobbies and our grandmothers cooked the same kind of food. I was amazed. That was when I realized that Turkish-Cypriots are the same as us. It was silly of me to be afraid to come. I told my best friend about how nice the Turkish-Cypriot children were, but she didn’t believe me. May she should go to a camp too so that she can see what I saw. I have Turkish-Cypriot friends now. I gave them my email so that we can talk on msn. I wish I could see those friends everyday.”…

    Words To Describe Me

    • 924 Words
    • 4 Pages

In a recent interview, I was asked to share four words that describe me. As I shared the words, overcomer, hard worker, integrity, and leader, I soon realized that they were more than words, but represented life experiences that shaped my identity and have defined who I am today. While those experiences were not what I necessarily wanted or asked for, they provided an opportunity to learn a strong work ethic, live with integrity, grow in my leadership, and become an overcomer of life’s struggles. In life, each of us has the opportunity to be a whiner or a winner; a victim or a victor. In my short span of life, I have seen the value of the latter and the destruction of the former. I did not realize it at the time, but challenges and struggles in life can either destroy you or make you stronger.…
