My Hero
It gets me through
Last year, I went through the hardest things I 've ever been faced with in my life. I lost my grandpa and two months later I lost my aunt and soon after our home was foreclosed on. This left me thinking, " Is this the end of the beginning or the beginning of the end". What I needed was something to help get me through these traumas. That 's where my hero, Ozzy Osbourne, comes in. In the essay "My Heroes", Elizabeth Berg describes how her daughters hero is her friend Laura. Her mother was in shock and didn 't understand why her daughter didn 't appreciate "real" heroes such as Martin Luther King. Berg 's message was that anybody can be a hero, celebrity or not Ozzy Osbourne is the most important hero in my life because after all the things he has gone through, he never gave up,he didn 't quit. he has also hown me that it doesn 't matter who you are, we are all capable of changing for the better. Most people think of Ozzy Osbourne as being satanic, a drug abuser, an alcoholic, and even the cause of some people committing suicide. I beg to differ. If they actually took the time and truly listened and researched his lyrics, they would see that none of those things are true, he is a changed person. For instance, I have a family member who is an alcoholic; she drinks from the moment she wakes up. She has called everyday harassing my grandmother, telling her she 's going to come down and kill her and just rambling on about things. For years now she has truly though that my grandma is the devil, and that she is out to kill us all. She has blamed my grandma n my aunt and my grandpa 's death numerous times. No, she hasn 't yet changed for the better. But I have faith that one day she will realize what the reality is and change for the better, just as Ozzy did. To go along with that, I have another family member who has been a drug abuser for as long as I can remember. When I was younger
