As we approached the front porch we could feel the eerie chills in the air. We walked through the front door and at first everything seemed normal, but after we had all crossed that initial threshold of the front door the house had hold of us. The door slammed shut behind us and locked all on its own, we were trapped inside… We quickly started to panick, looking for an escape. As we were searching for an exit the strangest things started to happen. We would see shadowy figures turning around corners, just to find no one there, bugs seemed to appear out of nowhere then scurry away, the eyes on paintings seemed to follow us as we ran through the house, and lastly the noises, they came from somewhere deep within the house and had no explanation. Each experience slightly more terrifying than the last; it was almost as if the house could sense our fear and was feeding off of it… Eventually we all ended up succumbing to fear and we just crippled over and gave in, the house had won. All of the legends and horror stories we had always heard about the house were real, today we discovered that they were true. The house had won, it had claimed its newest souls and feasted on their fear until nothing was left but the bones of its…
The last thing I remember is falling asleep during a late night rerun of the Twilight Zone. So when it happened, it was especially eerie, like I had stepped into a lost episode, but Rod Serling was nowhere in sight; for moment, neither was anybody else. At 4:31 AM a merciless shove pushed me off my bed. I crawled on the floor, trying to escape the cruel, uncontrollable shaking, but it followed me. It followed me down the stairs and underneath the dining room table where my family joined me. Little did I realize that before the morning sun rose again, I would see everything differently.…
There’s an overwhelming sense of fear. It is as if there were eyes watching me. I begin to get out of the bed. I’m going to open the closet but I don’t want to. I know something bad is going to happen. But I open the door and there’s nothing, but it’s too dark to actually see anything. I lean further into the closet. It’s colder in the closet than in the room. I feel a hand pull my hand off the knob and drag me further in. I fall and I keep falling. I don’t stop falling till I wake up, and it gets colder as I fall. I feel my blood freeze in my veins. It's like the dream’s…
We were in there for about an hour, hearing screams, thuds, and cackles. We were to scared to talk to each other. I was crying, and I wasn’t sure if Stori was since it was pitch black but according to the little sniffles I heard, I assumed she was. I was about to fall asleep, when I heard everything get silent, then the door creaked open, it was a dark but I could see a little and from what I saw there was no one standing there. We waited a few minutes, then I Exclaimed,…
When I was younger, I was terrified of strangers. I would not talk to anyone who wasn’t family or a close family friend. When extended family came into town, I was very apprehensive. I was very shy and I relied a lot on hiding in my mother’s arms. I wouldn’t even talk to my preschool teachers for a long time, I just cried instead. I refused to talk to anyone at the grocery store or at my sibling’s schools. I do not have any idea as to why I was so timid, it is not like I had a scary traumatizing experience. I was just quiet, but that has definitely changed throughout the years. Now I can strike up a conversation with anyone, and I’m usually the one who won't stop talking. According to my mom, I didn’t really start talking to people until I…
Sometimes you would hear footsteps, on other occasions you could hear faint screaming at night, or even whispers. The parents just brushed it aside and claimed that the house was old and creaky and at night the wind creeps through the house causing the screaming and whispering noise. As for the footsteps, everybody just pretended not to hear those. One day though, Sarah followed the sound of the footsteps. It lead her to the basement. Sarah didn’t feel too well about that place. It was dim, and dark down there and it always felt damp. “Hello? Is anybody there?” Sarah asked nervously. Nobody answered. Then out of nowhere an ice cold breeze flew through the air and left the room in a few seconds. That was all Sarah needed to actually believe that her and her family were not alone in that house. She ran up the stairs and went to find her sister to tell her what had happened. When Sarah found Sally, she was reading a book on how to get rid of ghosts. “There is something in this house,” she said. Sarah then tells her about her experience and they both start…
As I lie in bed that night I found myself twisting and turning unable to fall asleep, when I heard the loud screech of the screen door opening. I quickly sat up in bed listening to see if somebody was in the house when I heard what sounded like light footsteps walking towards my room. I pretended to be asleep just waiting for the potential intruder to come creeping into my room. I watched the doorway, but nobody ever entered. That is when I felt a light press on the bed beside me as if someone had just lied in my bed. I quickly rolled over to see that nobody was there and fell asleep thinking that I was just going…
I can tell by the change in temperature that we have moved out of the house. Goosebumps start to form on my arms. I never would have imagined that the haunted house would go outside. We start into the maze and after twenty steps, a hand reaches out and grabs my ankle. I stumble forward and the hand doesn't seem to loosen up any. finally it lets go and I spring forward, almost falling over, but then balancing myself on the wall. I look back and the hand is gone. I take a minute to catch my breath and shawn says, “Logan’s getting all the scares.” Obviously, somebody working the haunted house heard that, because a minute later another hand emerges, this time grabbing shawn’s leg. To which he reacts with a high pitched yelp, which makes the whole group laugh. “that's what you wanted wasn’t it?” I said sarcastically, and shawn gave me an angry look. We turned the corners of the maze, and people started to argue over which way we should go. Eventually we got split up. now it was just me, Tom, and Shawn. We walked quietly for awhile, and I realised it was a little too quiet, and I turned to the guys. But they weren't…
From the distance Ashley saw something, she couldn’t make out what it was as the fog was so thick and her body began to feel like it was tightening, but all she could see was this blur in the distance just sitting slowly moving around like it was on something making it move "this is like a ghostly nightmare in a movie that I hope I would never experience, I feel sick" sobbed Ashley. Something inside them said they couldn’t turn back and forget what they saw so they both steadily started to get closer to the park as they were both anxious to figure out what this blur was. Ashley and Alison got closer and there was a noise, a screeching noise like someone was dragging their nails across a chalkboard. Ashley and Alison waited for a brief moment, both frightened, closing their eyes and silently hoping this nightmare to end, allowing them to both get on with their lives and say "remember that time" Alison quickly got her phone out and switched the torch on, she was terrified, her hand shaking while slowly moving the torch around the park, she was far too scared to even look so Ashley had to be the one to keep her eyes open to see anything strange. While Alison was moving the torch she pointed it in the direction where the screeching sound was coming from, it was just an old roundabout which was moving…
Suddenly, I heard a loud noise from the kitchen. Although it scared me greatly, I tried to ignore it. Then it happened again, but louder. I got out of bed and snuck into the kitchen. What I saw… calmed me greatly.…
Tired, with a headache, and not in capacity to maintain my eyes open, I remembered next day was Halloween, which was the last thing I remembered before falling sleep. I woke up and saw the watch, it was three o’clock a.m. I listened to a weird sound that came from my closet; it was soft, but I could hear it like a rat scratching the walls. Intrigued about what was happening, I woke up and walked towards the closet. The sound gave me the chills.…
I didn’t know what the sad rustling of my colorful curtains were. It excited me with amazing horrors I’ve never felt before. Someone was at my bedroom door. Then later another visitor came to my door. That was it and nothing more. Right then my soul grew stronger, and I couldn’t wait any longer. I would appreciate your forgiveness. Once again I heard a light knocking. I opened the door and there was nothing. I started dreaming things I had never dreamed before. I heard a voice say, “Lenore”. I said it back and all I heard was an echo. Then I heard a knocking louder than before. It was at my window. It was still nothing, but my heart stopped.…
I woke up in the middle of the night. A feeling of unknown came over me, and it took a moment to realize I was in my older sister’s room. I was not more than seven years old at the time, and I was laying in her bed, but she was not there. Her old full size bed was covered in a blue comforter with yellow daisies on it, and the room was painted yellow. The darkness seemed to cast a spell on the room, and it seemed as if I was looking through a dark filter. The yellow wasn’t the bright color I remembered, and I felt so small compared to everything else. The street…
It was a dark spooky Halloween night, I had just finished watching Spookley, the Square Pumpkin. After a long night of handing out non-poisoned candy to weird staggering tots at my doorstep, I felt it was time to turn off the light. Walking to my room, I tripped on something slimy, being dismissive, I labeled it as my long lost sweater and threw it in the hamper. The corridor to my room seemed longer than usual this night, my steps seemed louder, offbeat almost. I quickly looked behind me, no one was there. Picking up my pace, the steps sounded closer, faster. Detecting my room door, I flew in and shut the door. with my back turned towards it. I’m panting, out of breath. Turning away the cover to my bed, I saw it. It was…
My mind began to wake up again. There was noises all around me, and I was being held by large hands, and they were speaking in a unknown language. To say the vary least, I was terrified and did the most logical thing, I screamed.…
