My Playing Career
Throughout my entire life I have played soccer for the cities of Everett and recently the city of Malden. Since the majority of my playing career was in Everett up until the 11th grade when I chose to change teams to Malden for personal reasons. I have always helped Everett whenever I had the chance. I have coached the U6s and the U8s for a year during the spring and fall months every week, it was every Monday and Wednesday for the U8s and Saturday and Mondays for the U6s. Once I had to start working had to stop volunteering because playing soccer for a club, working and at the same time still doing high school made me struggle a lot in school. Also it got canceled and there were no more training days for the U6s and U8s when I was trying to go back to help. …show more content…
When I was coaching them I already had an idea of what major I wanted and that is sports management, and coaching really made me want to do it more because I got to see them grow and you can see the potential that some of the players had to go on and be a successful soccer player. Coaching was really fun because I was able to show some of the kids, drills that made me better as player and even though many of them were young they were able to catch on and eventually do the drills really

Not only have I been playing the sport since then, but the sport has also influenced me beyond solely playing it. It is the culture surrounding the game as well. It is waking up early every Saturday morning to watch the Liverpool game, or getting ready to cheer on the New England Revolution in Gillette Stadium in the evenings. Soccer has been embedded everywhere in my life, from the posters on my bedroom walls to the jerseys that continue to accumulate on my closet floor. This passion has driven me to share the sport with as many as I can. With the Natick Soccer Organization, I have been organizing tournaments for U10 and U14 boys…

In baseball there is an enigma of a pitch called the knuckle ball, which is very difficult for batters to hit because the the ball moves unpredictably in different directions. Last year, it was my first year when I work in the female soccer team from my old high school. This was a soccer team where I was a goalkeeper trainer. This team was the high school soccer team representing the local High school. The purpose for our team was to win all the games against other schools, another of our goals was to have fun and to stay active; my personal goal was to train the goalkeepers the best I can and make them better soccer players. The best reward we all get was the feeling of been the winning team, the feeling that we all get after realizing how hard work has paid off. That is always the best feeling, to win games. physically gifted they may bepropositioned me. He bet me that he could either strike me out or force an out. This was a bold maneuver. Vincent knew I would not turn him down. Deciding to let him win in front of the parents, or shatter his confidence was tough. The entire team went out onto the field knowing that I would hit the ball for the reason that it was impossible to strike me out. I let him throw the first strike, and swung and missed on the second pitch. The parents joined in the action and cheered him on, with the hopes of seeing an elementary school kid strike out a high school baseball player. I came to the realization that I have much more to give than allowing Vincent to strike me out just to make the onlookers happy. I hit the…

I was sitting in my freshman geometry class, talking to some friends about injuries. We were talking about how none of us have ever gotten injured in our entire life. I had been playing sports since I was in the sixth grade, and nothing ever happened. In my life I had never broken a bone. I had never even sprained an ankle. I had never worn any kind of brace, taped an ankle, or talked to a trainer about any muscle issue or pain issue. When kids would lay on the court, I always thought they were fine or looking for a little attention. My thought was that they needed to rush off the court because they were dripping sweat all over the hardwood floor, and they were taking too much time up. I used to assume they were killing our momentum when they would fall down and cry because some schools…

My life has revolved around soccer since I was four years old. My whole family was born into the sport and I’m so thankful that I have the support from my family and friends to continue to follow my dream in playing college soccer. I believe my life would not be the same without participating in the sport I love and playing with the people I grew up with. I wouldn’t have met half the people I know now. All my teammate’s families that treat me like their family would have been just imaginary. I wouldn’t have a second family to fall back on when I need. Soccer had made me for who I am. The reason I’m so competed and driven is because of the game. Soccer has helped me become a responsible hardworking young adult that doesn’t like to fail. My never-quit…

College one and done players agree that college was a good choice and said they wanted to stay longer if they could, making it seem college was a good thing in the end. From David Wharton of the LA Times and up for the “Best American Sports Writing” award, “ You kind of give up on that college life he said. I only got one year of it and you kind of miss that, going to class and hanging out with friends.”(qtd. Wharton 2). As Conley says this, more and more one and done players do regret leaving school early a year or two. Players have the opportunity for a fun, interesting life away from home, making new friends, and growing as a person. Part of the rule’s purpose was to help players show how great college was and hopefully affect them in their…
