My Responsibility Of Being An America
Not all Americans take responsibility to their country. Some people do not take care of their families or take advantage of their right to vote and their privilege to have a voice. One responsibility that I have as an American is that I should take advantage of all of my opportunities. Such as, free voting, free education, my right to happiness, and the right to be successful. As a citizen I am given many free opportunities, such as a free education. Every single person has a responsibility to take advantage of this opportunity and make something out of it. Education is a key factor in living a successful life. Receiving an education can help me out in the long run; it can also help me move onto secondary schooling. Kids look up to their parents and need to be taught most things about being a good citizen to their country. Myself as a parent, need to take responsibility and show my children how important it is to be kind and respectful to themselves and everyone else. There is no real other way that our future kids will be able to learn these things. We are the ones that are responsible for how our kids turn out. So every little thing that we teach our kids is important, but then again we won't be the only ones that will be teaching our kids. They themselves will be teaching themselves some things. For example, when they make a mistake, they'll be the ones that will be teaching themselves never to make that mistake again. By themselves they'll be facing many things that will shape them into the human beings they will …show more content…
My responsibility as an American is to be a good person and do the right things. If I don’t abide by the rules I could possibly ruin my life and spend the rest of it in jail. I know not to throw away my life and make the best out of it by following the rules and not getting into trouble. Also, if I end up getting into trouble I will only going to be given so many second chances and so many slaps on the wrist. So I know that I should always be cognizant and know what I am getting into. If I were getting into a situation that may seem dangerous or far-fetched, I know I really should try and get out of it. It is my job to set an example for people that are close to me and that care about me. I do not just want to become just another statistic. I as an American have the duty to help improve my country and lessen our percentage of people that are incarcerated. I know I need to step up and make a

I also think it is my job to help protect this country to fight all the enemies who try to invade us by boat, plane, or any other way possible. There are a lot of people who perform their duties successfully and there are others who don’t do so good on performing their duties. Like myself as of others, I have to also pay for things I don’t like paying for but I do just so I can survive in my life and my career. If I dot pay for it, then I most likely wouldn’t have an education nor a job because jobs now days require education. And without that education you wouldn’t be able to do anything. The most unliked item I don’t like paying is taxes, but they are required to be paid or you lose your land, house, livestock if you have any, equipment if you have any, and possibly your own family. And losing your family would not be so fun because then you won’t have…

“Where were you on 9/11?” Every American twenty and older could answer that question. Having been less than two years old at the time, I don’t remember that day very clearly. I, along with my peers, had to learn about the heinous attacks from parents, teachers, and news articles. I didn’t know until I was about ten years old that among the stories of death and despair were tales of American bravery unlike any before.…
