to write. It is one of my best strengths.
Before I began college English, I had no idea what a “transition” was or how to use one in a sentence.
I felt as though it came naturally, when I tried applying transitions into my papers. I have positive remarks on both of my previous papers. Due to my ability to place a transition in a sentence, my papers are more professional and flow smoothly.
Consequently, with all of my positive feedback on my strengths as a writer, I have found some negative habits in my writing style. From the very first paper I ever wrote in college until now, I have learned quite a bit about my writing and how to improve on my grammar. While deciding which words read better throughout a sentence and making sure the words I use are proper, it is important for me to give a strong sense of understanding to the reader; thus, having a well written and more educated paper. I have never been horrible at spelling; however, if not for the autocorrecting tool, I would need to practice my spelling. As has been said, my spelling has improved, due to the fact that my English professor has helped me realize the error of my
spelling-ways. Do not get me started on my punctuation! I am a comma-splice, freak-of-nature! I decide to throw in a comma, where a comma should not boldly go. Seven different times on my second paper, I decided to add commas inappropriately; in simpler terms, I am still learning and practicing where my commas belong, as well as where they do not. Who would have thought there were so many “quirks” in this crazy, secret language called English? It is time, I cut it out! It is time I find all these “quirks” and master them. It is also time that I cut out all of the negative habits, I have accumulated over the years that technology has promoted. I need to continue to practice my grammar, spelling, and punctuation; all in all, making my papers a fantastic read by getting rid of all of the negative “quirks” to which I am accustom. Believe me when I say that there are far better, professionally written papers waiting to be presented to my English professor. In summary, everything I have learned thus far will be applied, creating phenomenal reads!
