After Graduate School, I hope to have my PhD in psychology or my doctorate in psychiatry. I would like to start out working in jails, talking to criminals and analyzing their brains versus the brain of an average adult to study how the brain reacts with criminal activity and why they do and feel what they do. I have heard that a person can not do that type of work for very long because it is emotionally tasking so after that, I would like to open my own counseling practice up. I would do either marriage and family therapy or focus on teenage depression. Eventually, I would like to retire into school psychology or become a psychology teacher. Also, if I ever have enough money, I will buy a house devoted to taking in stray animals…
Being a Certified Nurse’s Assistant is not easy. It’s actually not easy at all. It’s back-breaking work most of the time. It is also very emotional at times too. I think to have this job you can’t just be in it for the money. This job requires having a heart; not being in it for the money. There are a lot of different places that can employ CNA’s; hospitals, nursing homes, sometimes even doctor’s offices.…

I have chosen to become a registered nurse because of the many great benefits it comes along with. For example it is a high paying job with a flexible schedule, and has an expected nineteen percent job growth within the upcoming years. Therefore, once I have completed my bachelor’s degree and start looking for a job I will have plenty of opportunities to choose from. Not only that but I will hopefully start working a job with a good starting salary. I hope to achieve my short terms goals which include getting accepted into Tarrant County College Nursing Program, and then earning my Associate Degree in Nursing so I can later accomplish my long term goal and complete my Bachelor of Science in Nursing to become a registered nurse.…
I’ve always had a passion for the healthcare field; especially the restorative, emergency response, and geriatric aspects of healthcare. My family definitely influenced my passion. My mother was an ER Tech for 6 years and recently became a LPN. And my grandmother was a CNA and an Activities Director. My mom and grandmother loved their jobs and their stories inspired me to pursue my nursing career.…
My first job was working as Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA). I started working in the field when I graduated high school. A close friend introduced me to the nursing field. My friend said the job didn’t require much education, you just had to like working with people. I thought well, I am really good with people, I thought this should be easy. I worked as a CNA for about five years, and I realize that the job didn’t offer any challenges. I felt as if I wasn’t really going anywhere, I just had a job. I decided that maybe if I had a specialty that I would feel more challenged. I decided to become a hospice CNA. A hospice CNA cares for patients in the end stages of life. Well, I didn’t know what I was signing up for. I didn’t realize…

At the beginning of the term I reflected on my successes and downfalls from the previous term and developed goals. My first goal was to complete the assessment portion of patient care in one appointment by the end of the term. I was able to accomplish this goal right away, and with almost every patient I saw, which I am proud of. My second goal was to accurately chart restorations, using detailed surfaces, and other dental appliances. Again, I was able to achieve this goal and as a result became much better at dental charting. My final goal was to detect and remove calculus at 75% accuracy, which I was also able to accomplish by the end of the term.…
Nursing to me is not just a career choice; it’s a way of life, and one that I’ve wanted to pursue since I was a child. I’ve witnessed firsthand the miracles that nurses can work and I know that every nurse is somebody’s hero. Likewise, the most inspirational people in my life have been nurses and I strive each and every day in my classes to absorb as much information as I can, in hopes that one day, somebody will say the same thing about me. I believe that one of the most vital choices you can make in your life is that of which school you decide to attend. My ultimate career goal is to become a Lead Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and I know USF would provide me with the kind of premium education that would ensure my success.…
