Nature vs. Nurture I came from a long line of social dysfunction and a long line of bad genetics however, “these were the tools that helped me succeed!” I never blame my parents or my environment for all the terrible things I went through, I do in fact think that they made me a sum what stronger individual, which can withstand any obstacle. Looking in, I think that I have already been through the worst, so it’s time to excel and stand up for what I believe I am, and do what I know I’m capable of.

I say this because I wasn’t born with any of the personality characteristics of my parents. I have always had a sense to help others, to share, and to put my family first, which is something that both parents lacked. I think this can explain how I was shaped. I struggled to have the bare necessities in adolescence, and this I believe altered my course of development, making me strive to gain more for myself and my family. I became the first person in my family to obtain a high school diploma, and the first person in my family to get a college degree.
As far as gender and sexuality was concerned, nature did play a role in that aspect. My father and his father, mother and her mother, came from a long line of heterosexuals. My father always told me to find me a good women with whom I can spend my life with, which I can trust. He also imposed the importance of a long lasting committed (till’ death do us part) marriage. Which that was one thing that he lead by example, considering him and my mother are still together after about 38 years.
In conclusion, I would have to say that I am very proud of myself each and every day. My outlook on life is optimistic, and my heart is made of gold. Nobody can bring me down, only up from here. It’s my choice to continue to make good decisions in life, and not let my past childhood experiences get in the way of my future, which is starting to look better each day that I improve. There is still a long road ahead, and many more obstacles to jump, and I will be ready for them, one at a
