In its fi rst year, the company sold about 9 glasses of Coca-Cola a day. A century later, The Coca-Cola Company has produced over 10 billion gallons of syrup. 1888-1891, Pemberton sold the company to Atlanta businessman, Asa Griggs Candler, for a total of about $2300. Candler would become the company 's first president, and the first to bring real vision to the business and the brand. By 1895, Candler had built syrup plants in Chicago, Dallas and Los Angeles. In 1894, a Mississippi businessman named Joseph Biedenharn became the first to put the drink in bottles. In 1916, the Root Glass Company of Terre Haute, Indiana, began manufacturing the famous contour bottle. As the country roared into the new century, The Coca-Cola Company grew rapidly, moving into Cuba, Puerto Rico, France, and other countries and U.S. territories. After 75 years of amazing success with brand Coca-Cola, the company decided to expand with new flavors: Sprite® in 1961, TAB® in 1963 and Fresca® in 1966.
The Company 's presence worldwide was growing rapidly, and year after year, Coca-Cola found a home in more and more places: Cambodia, Montserrat, Paraguay, Macau, Turkey and more. In 1978, The Coca-Cola Company was selected as the only company allowed to sell packaged cold drinks in the People 's Republic of China
In1985, diet Coke® is found that is the very first extension of the Coca-Cola trademark -- within two years, it had become the top low-calorie drink in the world,

On May of 1886, pharmacist Dr. John Pemberton had created a drinkable medicinal formula which he termed "Coca-Cola". Pemberton 's original Coca-Cola recipe called for coca leaves and kola nuts. After mixing his concoction with sparkling mineral water, Pemberton began to market the beverage as a fountain drink, and as an alternative to beer and ginger ale. In the next year pharmacist Dr. Asa Candler, bought the formula from Dr. Pemberton. Due to his penchant for aggressive marketing and advertising, Dr. Candler 's Coca-Cola business became quite successful, and Coca-Cola became one of America 's most popular fountain drinks. After 1905, coca leaves were no longer used as one of the main ingredients in Coca-Cola. In time, fructose syrup replaced the crystal sugar used in the soda, allowing for cheaper and faster manufacture of the syrup. The bottling industry also allowed for a wider distribution of the soda, further increasing its sales and its popularity. During 1960’s Coke launched Fanta, Sprite and Tab. Today, Coca-Cola products are consumed at a rate of more than one billion drinks per…

Being a bookkeeper, Frank Robinson also had excellent penmanship. It was he who first scripted "Coca Cola into the flowing letters which has become the famous logo of today. The soft drink was first sold to the public at the soda fountain in Jacob 's Pharmacy in Atlanta on May 8, 1886. About nine servings of the soft drink were sold each day. Sales for that first year added up to a total of about $50. The funny thing was that it cost John Pemberton over $70 in expanses, so the first year of sales were a loss. Until 1905, the soft drink, marketed as a tonic, contained extracts of cocaine as well as the caffeine-rich kola nut. In 1887, another Atlanta pharmacist and businessman, Asa Candler bought the formula for Coca Cola from inventor John Pemberton for $2,300. By the late 1890s, Coca Cola was one of America 's most popular fountain drinks, largely due to Candler 's aggressive marketing of the product. With Asa Candler, now at the helm, the Coca Cola Company increased syrup sales by over 4000% between 1890 and 1900 Robinson (Anonymous, 2001).…

Coca-Cola was discovered as a result of an accident. In 1886 a pharmacist named John Pemberton cooked up medicinal syrup. When he was done, he figured he had created a fine tonic for people who were tired, nervous, or plagued with sore teeth. He and his assistant mixed it with ice water, sipped it, and proclaimed it tasty. They wanted some more, and the assistant accidentally used carbonated water to mix the second batch. Instead of medicine, these men had created a fizzy beverage - one that is now consumed around the world. Today people guzzle 1 billion drinks a day from the Coca-Cola Company. But this new beverage was not an instant success. In the first year, Pemberton spent $73.96 promoting his new product but managed to sell only $50 worth.…

Coca-Cola Company history originated in 1886 when the “curiosity of an Atlanta pharmacist, Dr. John S. Pemberton, led him to create a distinctive tasting soft drink that could be sold at soda fountains” (Coca Cola History, 2013, para. 1). He generated flavored syrup, took it to his neighborhood pharmacy, “where it was mixed with carbonated water and deemed “excellent” by those who sampled it” (Coca Cola History, 2013, para. 1). Dr. Pemberton’s partner and bookkeeper, Frank M. Robinson, is credited with “naming the beverage “CocaCola” as well as designing the trademarked, distinct script, still used today” (Coca Cola History, 2013, para. 1).…

The history of Coca-Cola goes back to1886 when it was invented by Dr John Pemberton, in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. According to legend, Dr Pemberton was trying to develop a revitalizing tonic and produced a thick brown syrup that he carried down the street in a jug to Jacob’s pharmacy. It was sampled with carbonated water, pronounced ‘delicious and refreshing’ and placed on sale for five cents a glass as a soda fountain drink. In trying to develop the new product, Dr Pemberton’s partner and bookkeeper, Frank M. Robinson, suggested that two ‘c’s would look good in advertising and penned the now famous trademark ‘Coca-Cola’ in his unique script. The first newspaper advertisement for Coca-Cola appeared in the Atlanta Journal and invited thirsty citizens to sample the new refreshing soda fountain drink. During the first year sales averaged a modest nine drinks a day!…

In 1886, John Pemberton who was an Atlanta pharmacist came up with a caramel-colored liquid and then he carried it over to Jacob’s Pharmacy. Once at the pharmacy the mixture was combined with carbonated water. Later on they put the mixture to the test by letting the customers at the pharmacy try it out and it was a success. They then started to sell the new concoction for only five cents a glass. The new refreshing drink was named Coca-Cola, the name was given by Frank Robison, who happened to be Pemberton’s book keeper. From 1888-1891 Asa Griggs Candler from Atlanta, Georgia secured the rights to Coca-Cola for about $2,300 and he then later became the company’s first president. By 1895, Asa G. Candler had build plants throughout the country in cities like Los Angeles, Dallas, and Chicago. In 1894, Joseph Bidenharm was the first person to put Coca-Cola in a bottle and he sent the idea to Candler, but it did not have much success. Five years later Benjamin F. Thomas and Joseph B. Whitehead secured the rights to bottle and sell Coca-Cola for only a dollar. Later on in 1923, Robert Woodruff became Coca-Cola’s president after his father Ernest Woodruff, who had purchased the company, had passed away. Robert Woodruff then spent about 60 years globalizing Coca-Cola. Then after 70 years of success, Coca-Cola decided to incorporate new flavors: Fanta, Sprite, TAB and Fresca. In 1960, Coca-Cola bought the Minute Maid Company adding juices to the company. A few years later in the 1980’s Roberto C. Golzueta became the chairman of the Board of Directors and the CEO of the company. He organized numerous US bottling operations into Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc. and he also introduced diet coke. In 1990 new beverages were introduced to the company and by 1997, Coca-Cola would sell 1 billion servings of its products every day. Now days, Coca-Cola has more than 500 brands and is committed to paying attention to what people want to drink and how they want to drink…

The Coca-Cola Company (KO) is the world's largest beverage company, and it owns or licenses more than 500 nonalcoholic beverage brands. The company owns four of the world's top five nonalcoholic sparkling beverage brands: Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Fanta and Sprite. The prototype Coca-Cola recipe was formulated at the Eagle Drug and Chemical Company, a drugstore in Columbus, Georgia, by John Pemberton, originally as a coca wine called Pemberton's French Wine Coca. He may have been inspired by the formidable success of Vin Mariani, a European coca wine. In 1886, when Atlanta and Fulton County passed prohibition legislation, Pemberton responded by developing Coca-Cola, essentially a nonalcoholic version of French Wine Coca.…
