Octavio's Effect On Esperanza Life

Esperanza life started to fall apart when she was making love with her boyfriend Alex. While they were having sex her boyfriend was recording Esperanza; however, Esperanza felt uncomfortable, and she ends up telling Alex to stop recording her. Even though Esperanza told Alex multiple times to stop recording her, he continues to film her anyway. After they finish, Alex was pleased with himself because he managed to record her and he eventually saves the sex video on his phone. Then, all of the sudden, Alex ends up losing his phone, and he started to panic because he doesn’t want anyone to find out about the video. During the film, we find out that Octavio a friend of Alex was the one who takes away Alex’s phone because they got in a fight and he wanted revenge. Afterwards, Octavio finds out about the video on Alex’s phone and what he does is he uploads the sex video on Youtube so that the entire community could see it. The main reason why Octavio uploaded the video was that he wanted to see Alex suffered by getting criticized by his community. Nonetheless, Octavio actions didn’t affect Alex’s life as much as he planned, on the other hand, it did have a tremendous effect on Esperanza life.
Once people started to realize about the video, everywhere she went people
Afterwards, Esperanza responds to him by saying, “it’s easy for you to say.” In other words, Esperanza was trying to tell Alex that he doesn’t truly understand what she is going through because Alex didn’t experience the same bullying that she did. Esperanza made an excellent point because it was true. There was only one part in the film that Alex experienced bullied by the video. That part was when a random student from college came up to him and told Alex to do a part two of the sex video. This indicates that men don’t experience that same faith as a woman would
