There are over 300 sports in the Olympics and only 6 of them are equestrian sports: Individual dressage, Team dressage, Individual jumping, Team jumping, Individual eventing, and Team eventing. The first time equestrian sports were introduced into the Olympics was Paris, France 1900s. For three years Equestrians competed in Polo, Grand prix jumping, High Jump and Long Jump. The statement for the sake of this argument being asked is “The olympics should not have Equestrian sports”. Many argue that the olympics are only meant for human competition and not animals. This being said that the horse is the only animal in the olympics and has been the only one ever in the history of the Olympics. Many also say that it does not require any physical skill and it is all performed by the horse and their ability. This is coming from people who know nothing of the sport and only are interested in the basics such as soccer, lacrosse, tennis, swimming, etc. Many also are biased for the fact of you have to be rich to own a horse and even get involved in the sport to begin with. Although it does require a lot of responsibility and many people can not pursue the dream of having a horse it's the same as an other sport requiring time, effort, money and the will to do
