On Occasion MNU

On occasion MNU had an event held where students would come join in the library and be able to get in groups and study for a test, or work on homework together. The teachers were also being present helping out the students with whatever they needed. This event was called “Late night procrastination” but it had only happened about two or three times throughout the whole year. I would like to keep this event going. I found it very helpful, however, unfortunately there was a definite lack of turnout. This event could be very successful if there were more students attending. The solution to this is simply doing our best to keep get it going and inform students about the purpose, the place, and the end result. This event can be very beneficial
After all, what kind of college student would not want a little extra credit every now and then? Having professors encourage their students to get involved in these kind of activities promotes a healthy teacher-student dynamic as well. This can also create a more positive attitude toward teachers. Having the professors there can easily help the students if they have questions on their homework or if they have questions about what to study for on a test instead of having to wait till their next class or wait on an email response. These study sessions could be held every Tuesday and Thursday nights; or if that is too much we could have it once every two weeks after dinner and each of those nights could be different classes and not all on one night. It is best not to study more than 2 to 3 hours at a time when studying in a group. During long sessions, group members tend to socialize more and do not study as productively. However, study sessions under an hour tend to be rushed and unproductive since only a few subjects can be
