Constitution and By-Laws
NAME
Resolved that this Auxiliary shall be known as Our Lady of the Angels Kaycee Auxiliary.
AIMS AND PURPOSES
To assist the Knights of Columbus and to promote good fellowship through religious and social activities and to participate in The Louisiana Ladies Auxiliary Association.
ARTICLE I
MEMBERSHIP
Membership shall be limited to any female (18 years or older). Once you meet the membership requirements, your membership shall remain intact as long as your dues are kept current. Each member Auxiliary shall designate two delegates, if possible, two alternates, its representatives to this Organization. The two delegates (or alternates) shall have the right to cast their Auxiliary’s two (2) votes in all matters before the state assembly.
ARTICLE II
OFFICERS
SECTION I: Officers: The officers of this Auxiliary shall be a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Board Member.
SECTION II: Nominations and elections:
A. The President will take nominations from the floor. The officers will be elected in May and installed before the first of July.
B. Elections shall be held by ballots. There will be no absentee ballots accepted.
C. A Parliamentarian shall be appointed by the President if she so desires, and be considered an officer.
SECTION III: Duties of Officers
A. It shall be the duty of the President to preside at all meetings and call any special meetings she may deem necessary and appoint all Chairman of committees.
B. It shall be the duty of the Vice-President to fulfill the duties of the President in her absence.
C. It shall be the duty of the Treasurer to have custody of all funds, to collect all dues and receipts, to pay bills, and submit a financial statement to the membership each monthly meeting. All receipts to deposited in a chosen bank (a checking account is recommended). All checks are to be signed by the Treasurer and the President. The Treasurer must have her books audited once a year.
D. It shall be the duty of the Secretary to keep a written record of all meetings called by the President and handle all correspondences.
E. It shall be the duty of the Membership of the Board to be ready to fulfill the duties of any absent officer except that of the President when the Vice-President is present.
F. It shall be the duty of the Parliament if one is appointed to enforce the by-laws and standing rules, and assure all meetings are conducted according to Robert’s Rules of Order.

SECTION II: Duties
A. Telephone: It shall be the duty of the telephone chairman to notify the members of any special activity.
B. Religion: It shall be the duty of the religion chairman to lead the opening and closing prayers at each meeting and inform auxiliary members of upcoming religious events.
C. Membership: It shall be the membership chairman duty to arrange for a membership drive.
D. Ways and Means: It shall be the ways and means chairman duty to provide fund raising activities during the year.
ARTICLE IV
MEETINGS
SECTION I: Meetings
A. Regular meetings shall be held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
B. The rosary will begin no later than 6:40 p.m. with the meeting following.
C. Special meetings may be called by order of the President or majority of the Board.
D. Meetings shall be conducted by Robert’s Rules of Order.

ARTICLE VI
DUES
SECTION I: Dues
Annual Dues shall be $12.00 per year (July- June) for members 69 years and younger. All dues must be paid in August. New member joining after December must pay their dues the same month. Members who are 70 years or older will be honorary members after paying dues for three (3) years in the same auxiliary.
STANDING RULES
1. It shall be the duty of all members to notify the President or the Secretary of any illness or death. Sympathy cards shall be sent to the members on the death of a family member. In case of illness a get well card will be sent out to that member.
2. Officers should notify the President in the event of an absence.
3. All activities to be held in Church Hall or grounds must be cleared by the Pastor or Parish Secretary (Jack).
4. In order to receive perfect attendance, you must attend all meetings from June to May. In order for a new member to receive perfect attendance, she must join the auxiliary by December 31 and attend all meetings until May. Upon the death or hospitalization of an immediate family member or an auxiliary member will be given credit for the meeting. Upon hospitalization of a member, you will be given credit for that meeting.
5. In order to get credit for attending a meeting, a member must arrive at the meeting by the time the recording secretary reads the minutes.
6. All records and materials of out-going officers and chairmen are to be turned over to their replacements.
7. All officers shall be in attendance at all meetings. An officer who misses two (2) meetings in a row will be replaced at the discretion of the President.
GENERAL INFORMATION
1. We have meetings every 2nd Tuesday of the month in the Parish Hall beginning with the rosary at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting followed by the rosary.
2. Perfect attendance is determined by the signatures on roll sheet of every monthly meeting.
