P1 Explain The Importance Of Security To The 3 Primary Schools
Security:
The security policy is very important in any kind of organisation, Brookdale, Kleinwater and Spenwell has a number or security policies and they are held in place to make sure details like passwords, user account, files, etc., are all protected from unauthorised people gaining access. The 3 Primary schools don’t give full access over the computer they are using as many things can be dangerous in an environment like a primary school. It is important all PCs are monitored. The way the PCs can be protected is by removing privileges from the users, this is controlled by the Admin. If you are using computers in an environment like Schools then it is mandatory legislation to abide and follow the DPA (Data Protection Act).The 3 Primary schools have a policy which their main purpose is to protect the schools from being exposed to any risks. The policy contains a list of acceptable usage polices and privileges.

The cost is important when purchasing as you need to do research and check if there isn’t anything the same or similar that is better and cheaper. You have to be involved in things like recycling for example in the schools a lot of paper will be used so you need to recycle paper and make sure it is used in useful ways and it comes out of the schools budget. Costs will involve other things such as pupils or staff causing damage or vandalism to equipment, Staff needs to report any incidents and give formal notice to the pupil to reimburse the costs. Somebody such as the care taker has to monitor energy consumption and make sure all PCs are switched off at the end of day to conserve energy. It will be useful to use energy efficient products as it reduces overall electricity
