Re: Planning for the Selection Interview

Message (all the points outlined below need their own sub-headings, clearly laid out)
Pre-interview:

Describe how you will short-list candidates for interview

The way I will shortlist candidates for the interview will be by asking the candidates if they have any previous experience and qualifications. I would short-list candidates who have qualifications because it will let the interviewee know

Identify the type of interview you recommend (choose from: group, individual, team, panel, telephone, multi-stage)

The type of interview that I would recommend is the individual interview. This is because the one to one interview will help the interviewer to get to know the candidate whereas, other interviews such as the team and group don’t. The individual interview is a better type of interview than the other options because it allows you to see what abilities the candidate have. However, there are disadvantages of this type of interview one disadvantage is that the individual interview takes a lot of time.

The next step is to set up the interview. Of course you want to screen through the applications and pick the people that seem qualified for the position. The best way to assess whether someone is qualified for the position is to look at past work experience. Ask the applicant to share relevant, past experiences. If the job requires special tasks, ask those specific questions. How does one work under pressure or how do they deal with deadlines. Always make sure to ask open ended questions and ask for…
