In this assignment, I will be demonstrating how I used my own interpersonal skills in a health and social care setting during my recent work placement.
Interpersonal skills are skills that we use every day to communicate and interact with others for examples, when we are communicating with people and we use any of the following then we are using interpersonal skills. Interpersonal skills help people communicate better.
Verbal communications skills:
Verbal communication is showing your feelings, ideas and messages through speaking. Verbal is the main form of commutation so it was important for me to show good verbal commutation at my work setting. During my work experience in the care home I have made such that I commutate with the clients in the care home so I spoke loud and clear sentences to the elderly in order for them to hear me. Some of the clients had sensory deficiently so it is important for you to use short constructive so that they do not get confused did not use slangs or jargons to confuse the elderly so you should use appropriate language when speaking to them.
Non-Verbal Communication :
A non-verbal communication is sending and receiving wordless messages for e.g. messages that can be communicated by body language, posture, facial expressions and eye contact. This is important in a health care setting because it allows you to build a good relationship with your patients. These skills can help both patient and the careers to understand each properly
Listening Skills: in order to have an effective listening skill in a health and social care setting is really important to use listening skills because it allows you and the patients to communicate. It is also important because you are making time to pay attention to what your patient is saying your patient may have concerns and questions
