Pace University Personal Statement
Moving to New York City to attend Pace University has been a transformative experience and a huge transition from life in my small hometown in Southern California. The school’s format have made it challenging to become all-consumed in academic pursuits. while I have benefitted from Pace’s small class sizes which have allowed me to get to know my professors, I have made all too frequent visits to my advisor who has given me leverage with course selections and been a source of all-around support, but can’t replace the close-knit campus culture I desire. My motivation to transfer stems from a desire to obtain the best educational experience possible. …show more content…

Joining a tennis team would allow me to pursue a lifelong personal passion, and allow me to engage with other students who also enjoy the

I still can recall the feeling of pure unadulterated fear, and even thinking about it now gives me that sense of dread that has become all too familiar. Every first day was slightly different, but they all had the same effect on me, the uncomfortable feeling of being on the chopping block. In four years, I have experienced the feeling of brand new faces staring at me with harsh, judgemental eyes 4 times, something most high schoolers have to endure only once, if at all. However, these four different educational institutions have brought more than just scholarly concepts into my mind. They have each bent and contorted me in ways that have forced me to learn to become inure. Each transfer required me to adapt and learn to make friends with people who were not…

Joining the future business leaders of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, becoming a youth leader at Christ Church, as well as many other volunteering activities helped me enrich my community, and make an impact in the world around me. Along with these organizations, I have played several sports in high school, in my junior and senior years I settled on my two favorite sports, track and field, and volleyball. Within these sports I have made friendships with my teammates I will never forget, and learned important lessons in humbleness when winning, and cohere with my friends when losing. By being a member of any sports teams at my high school, I regularly attended many of my school’s events, giving me the opportunity to develop relationships, and gain a tremendous sense of pride in my school. I am looking forward to bringing this same sense of pride to my college, and making many new friendships along the way. I learned over the course of my education to this point, that when I became more involved with these activities, my performance in the classroom increased alongside my…
