Paris Stunned Analysis
Article of the week 14
Paris Stunned

I think that someone would have to be crazy to do that and why would you really want to do something like that. The United states response should be to help them and provide protection. This could impact my life in the future because if more attacks happen more often then the world could be in a lot of trouble. It is important that people think about this topic because we need to stop this threat and protect the world. This article matters because Paris was in danger and ISIS was killing people and they could attack America next. People need to think about this topic because ISIS os a huge threat and could potentially take over the world and we need to stop them from doing that. I do not know why someone that crazy would do that just attack a random city just for fun. We need to help Paris recover and stop ISIS. These are my thoughts about what should be done.

Simone de Beauvoir was born in Paris in 1908 to Georges de Beauvoir and Francoise Brasseur.1 Her father was raised in a rich family that drew him to the right on the political scale.1 He was a strong atheist and pushed this on Beauvoir and her sister.1 Her mother on the other hand was a devout Catholic, and that along with her weak and rather submissive personality (something that manifests itself in the fact that she grew up in a time before first wave feminism), polarized her and Beauvoir. Her father fed her intellectual side, providing her with abundant works of literature and encouraging her to read and write from an early age. Beauvoir was very religious as a kid, which was likely a result of…

This article was about how the al-Qaeda group had attacked the world trade center on September 11, 2001. It also talked about how they took control of 4 planes and 2 crashed into the world trade center and 1 crashed into the pentagon. There were more than 2600 people had died and how it was a tragedy for everyone in the United States. This article was also about how the 9/ 11 attacks were a shock and how they think that they should have had not came as a surprise. It was also about how the Islam people gave them like a lot of warnings that they meant to kill a lot of Americans. I had found out in this article that the United States taught the Israel people how to fight in wars so like they trained them to win like warfare. Did you know that the destruction of the twin towers and other properties caused serious damage to the economy of lower Manhattan and had significant effect on global markets? In this article I found out that a lot of people had jumped from the twin towers because they were trapped at the top of one of the one of the twin towers. I thought that this article taught me a lot of things that I didn’t even know about what happened after the twin towers had collapse but I do now. After the crash there was a drought.…

We should honor the Americans that gave their lives on the day of 9/11.As Americans we should certainly apprehend the perpetrators, but by maintaining a decent respect to the option of mankind, as it says in the American declaration of independence (lievens 2002). As Americans we should cooperate with the international community by working within multilateral institutions, such as the United Nations and but at the same time protect ourselves against future terrorist attacks, destroy ourselves and American society. At the time don’t bring violence to a country that is not presenting any danger to us. Instead help build a world where the conditions that create terrorist no longer exist (Whitney 2003). We need to understand that when most people do harmful things to others, it is often not because they are inherently evil beings, but because they are desperate or because they believe what they’re doing is right. People need to recognize that most people everywhere value roughly the same things. At the broadest level, they want freedom and well beings. The want life, good health, a job at a decent level of living, comfortable housing, happy life, opportunities for their children, personal safety, and…

The extremists who conducted the terror attacks in Paris on Friday November 13, are members of ISIS. The terrorists follow the laws of ISIS, and their beliefs reflect the teachings of ISIS, which is an organization invented and created by religious extremists. Muslims, on the other hand, are people who follow the law of Islam, and are focused on the teachings of Islam, written in their holy book, the Qur’an. In so many cases, we confuse a peaceful religion with members of a radicalised, violent, extremist group. I believe that the attacks on Paris are committed to purposely cause an Islamophobic backlash. Religious extremists like ISIS, want there to be backlash as it then sparks a war between the West and Islam. Strengthening right wing, xenophobic Europe, in turn, strengthens their…

The two articles both discussed the uprisings of young people in France due to racism and poverty on the outskirts of the mega city, which dates back to the history of colonialism. The first reading by Balibar (2007) the author addresses the riots in banlieues through categories such as: names, violence, post-colony, religion, race and class, citizenship/the Republic, and politics/anti-politics. Furthermore, the author answers important key words that are part of this progression of the revolt(s). For instance, the word ‘banlieues’ means setting apart and dividing one from another. Although the word is engrained recently with a bad connotation that involves the poor, ethnic minorities, unemployment, to name a few, it also symbolizes the very rich. The second reading concentrates on the reasoning behind the revolts occurring in France by looking at the geographical colonial history. This would then pin point if there is a geographical pattern of urban unrest throughout historywhich would determine the post-colonial present.…

Even though the government changed from monarchy to democracy, after the Revolution there were still many Americans that did not benefit and still continued to live a horrible life. The American Revolution got rid of the King, or the dictator, and replaced it with the idea of people participating in the political process. In the painting La Destruction de la Statue Royale a Nouvelle Yorck, poor people taking down the statue of King George III with ropes. Everyone was involved in taking down the statue, but the poor people seemed to be doing most of the work (Doc.A). The rich whites were treated with more respect than the slaves and poor whites. This picture has no words but we can assume that the poor slaves and whites are really discontent…

“The Seine at Lavacourt” is an impressionism painting done by Claude Monet. The whole painting does not have clear or strict lines, shapes and edges because these are characteristics of the impressionism painting. He used many bright colors and soft brushwork to display a peaceful scene of the Seine River. The Seine at Lavacourt is one of the masterpieces from his Seine collection. His painting actually influences the future development of realism, neo-classicism, japonisme (Claude Monet Biography, n.d.).…

The first quick response of the US in this attack is to identify the sources of the attack quickly. They should shut down the system to audit the level of damage and prevent the attackers from accessing more information. After the identification of the attackers, they should impose financial sanctions against the perpetrators such as freezing their assets or prohibiting commercial trade.
