Personal Leadership Application Essay Examples

I would like the committee to be aware of what I believe to be my three strongest qualities: my leadership skills, ability to work well in a team, and unwavering perseverance. My involvement in shadowing, volunteering, working and being a leader never affected my ability to succeed in my academic career. Instead, these opportunities motivated me to work harder at my dream of becoming a PA. For this reason, I was able to graduate at the top of my class as Magna Cum Laude with a 3.82 GPA. These opportunities did not only push me to do my best academically but pushed me in becoming a better version of myself. My non-health related working experiences taught me to be open-minded, a motivator, confidant, and a delegator. Meanwhile, holding leadership
positions for the Association of Pre-Physician Assistants taught me the true definition of what it means to work as a team. The team dynamic that the officers and myself possessed allowed us to accomplish and offer amazing opportunities to the members. During, my Presidency we were the first group of officers to offer mission trips and shadowing opportunities. Through the process of planning these activities, I learned that without everyone’s input and dedication none of our accomplishments would have transpired. I mainly learned, that being a leader is not about being superior; instead, it’s about inspiring and motivating others to achieve their dreams and desires. I look forward to continuing this leadership role among my peers in PA school and I strongly believe that my experiences exemplify my ability to not only perform, but succeed in the demanding environment of PA school.
