When I arrived in the area of 1662 W. Ashleigh Ln, I could see the vehicle in question parked next to some cedar trees. I walked up to the residence and made contact with the home owner, she was identified with KS DL# K02-97-1866 as Terryn M. Heimken. I began to …show more content…
ask Terryn about the bus, she said it has been an eye sore ever since they had moved into the house. Terryn said they purchased the house as a foreclosed property back in June of 2016, she knew the owner of the bus and has made several attempts to get it moved. She said the bus owner and her had an arrangement for the bus to be moved since December of 2016. Terryn said they were in the process of purchasing the land that the bus sits on from an elderly lady in Wichita. I asked Terryn if the land owner lived in Arkansas, because that is some information that was passed on to me. Terryn said it did not belong to a male, and that they were going to close on the land in June of 2017. Terryn attempted to contact the real estate agent who was selling it so I could get the owners information. As of the time of the report Terryn had not gotten back with me for the contact information. I asked Terryn if the bus has moved at any point since she has moved to the house and she said no. She even went as far as to place tape across the door to keep her children out of the bus.
When I was done talking with Terryn, I walked over to the bus and began to photograph it. As you can clearly see in the photos in has not moved in some time, and no tire marks were present up to the bus. The bus I was photographing was identified with the KS tag of 231ASH. This tag came back to the 1961 Chevrolet and vehicle that was allegedly stolen. All of the photos were collected of the bus and submitted to the S;Drive at a later time.
I cleared the call and returned to the station, when I arrived I filled out a NCIC cancelation form and faxed it to Sumner County 911 so the vehicle could be removed as stolen.
I then contacted the original RP who was identified as Brian Cox from Deputy Wylie's report. I was able to contact Brian at the number provided. Brian was told the bus that he reported stolen was in fact sitting in the same place he had left it. Brian was shocked and said he called someone that lived on Ashleigh Ln and they said it was gone. Brian then began to apologize and said he should have gone and checked before he called to report it stolen. I then told Brian the land that the bus sits on was about to be sold, so he needed to make arrangements to get it moved if he wanted to keep it. Brian assured me that he would be out this weekend to get the bus running and move it off the property. I referred him to a few wrecker services and advised it might be easier to have it trailered off to a different location. Brian said he would take care of the
issue.
Photos uploaded, vehicle removed from NCIC as stolen.
This is all I have to report at this time.
