Personal Narrative: Australian Pop Punk Band Called 5 Seconds Of Summer
Music is a window to a girls screaming, insecure, boy crazy soul. I just happen to be one of those girls who gets attached to bands. Just the whole thing with attractive guys and great music, how could a teenage girl not be interested? One of my favorite bands is an Australian, pop punk band called 5 Seconds of Summer. Anyone who knows me well knows this. Last Christmas I received tickets for their concert. Now usually I’m a very reserved and demure person but let’s just say my mom still has the video of me crying. Another person who knows how much I love 5SOS is my best friend Kellie. She completely understands what it means to be completely in love with a person you’ve never met. Which makes it no surprise that she’s the person I ended up inviting to come to …show more content…
I was able to finally truly enjoy my favorite music live. There truly is nothing like hearing music you emotionally connect to live for the first time. It is a truly amazing experience that I believe everyone should get a chance to live. It was nearing the end of the concert and I was singing as loud as I could. They members came back out at the end and began throwing tshirts. I honestly believe that if i hadn't sung and yelled so loudly and unabashedly I would’ve never been thrown a t shirt by my favorite member of the band and that would’ve been a shame. Ending the concert on that incredibly high note just made the night all that much better. On the way back to the car it seemed so quiet. Obviously my ears were adjusting from the change in volume and I was able to reflect. I was and still am so thankful for the opportunity to see my favorite artists live in concert. On the way back to the car it was dark and quiet. We got into the car and because we’re both addicted to our phones, me and and Kellie both charge our phones. As our phones turn back on, we start getting notifications that we had missed while our phones were dead. The first thing I do is open Snapchat and go through my

It was late at night and I couldn’t sleep. I had had an awful day and some rather dark thoughts were running through my mind, but I knew what to do. I grabbed my headphones off the headboard and plugged them into my phone, then turned on the album Vessel by Twenty One Pilots. I slowly began to feel better and eventually dozed off. Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun’s music has always helped me through hard times. The subjects they write about, the significance of their songs, their absolute devotion to their fans, and the fact that they have literally saved my life is what makes them my heros.…

When the performance was over, she posted the picture to her Instagram account and thanked Kelsea online for taking time out to visit with fans. The opening act for her was an artist by the name of RAHBI, he was amazing. His vocal range and performance was out of this world, I had to meet him. Once the concert was over he was in the lobby doing a meet and greet while selling a few of his cd’s. When the crowd finally left I was able to make my move to meet him and ask a couple of questions. I told him how much I enjoyed his show and told him about what I wanted to do in the music industry, he gave me a little of advice and told me to add him on Facebook. I added him and he began inviting me to all of his…

It wasn’t quite the usual Saturday morning in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We woke up at 6:00, brushed my teeth, and did a final rehearsal of the songs we were going to perform. Then we ate breakfast, where I ate after dinner rolls with chili sauce like it was normal. extra slice of chocolate cake. Then we got dressed up in a white formal shirt and black pants. We were ready for the performance which was from 10:00 to 10:28. Then we rested for thirty minutes. We drove to the town hall to perform. We carried our instruments. Then I went backstage and had 5 bars of kitkat. My hands and feet were cold of nervousness since this was going to be our first performance. I bet the nervousness was a million times more than the excitement.…

With sweat drenching their bodies and taking deep gulps for air, five young men sling their arms over each other’s shoulders and take their final bow. The crowd’s cheers erupt into shrieks and tears; for they have just witnessed the boy band One Direction perform live in concert. My screams too, can be heard throughout my house as I watch this video on YouTube vowing to myself that one day I will see One Direction in concert. I make this promise to myself, as my screams then morph into tears of joy and longing as the members of One Direction exit the stage.…

There have been numerous times in my life where I’ve failed at something but there was one specific failure that really opened my eyes to what it really meant to fail. When I was in high school, I was in the band, my instrument of choice was the saxophone. While in the band it is required that you learn your sheet music before you attend any school event. This is to ensure that everyone is doing their absolute best and will make cuts to perform in every function the band was asked to participate. As I mentioned earlier, I played the saxophone and had always made cuts until one day our band instructor issued out new music. Being the person I am, I glanced at the music and said “I see no need for me to practice this, it’s so simple”. Later that…

Bands of America was very cool this year! The bus ride went very well, only problem being that every bump hit would rewind the movie that was playing. Once we got there everything went very smoothly. I got to help the band moms put the hat boxes in order! Warm ups there were a lot of jitters in the air it seemed, but not bad ones. Waiting to get on the field was extremely nerve wracking. But, once we got on the field everything seemed nice and mellow, like we were back on the field at home, it just had a different crowd and background. I feel really good about the performance. We did the best we could do and our best got us third in our class! Heading to the hotel and getting to lay down and rest was very nice and much needed. The food was…

As somebody who always had trouble fitting in in school, it was really hard to find a place of which I could be a part of. I joined band in middle school, and I enjoyed playing greatly, even if I wasn’t the most talented saxophone player in the program. I wouldn’t say I was passionate about it at the time, but band certainly was a fun and [something] experience, learning to play music with my friends. Through my three years of middle school at Southeast Bulloch, I travelled from second-to-last chair placement in 6th grade to 2nd chair placement in 8th grade. For a lonely, shy middle schooler, it meant a lot to me to have an activity I was good…

As a little girl I wanted to be just like Hannah Montana. As I got older, I wanted to be like Rachel Berry, a small town girl living out a big town dream. I wanted to be looked up to because of my musical talent. Walking into Mrs. Kaiser's 7th hour, 8th grade band, I didn't know that music would have such an impact in my life. Music has become the spark of my intellectual curiosity. There are millions of combinations of key signatures, chords, melodies and rhythm in the world of music just waiting to become attached to a sheet of staff lines and spaces. Ever since my first experience with music in the fourth grade, my mind began to explore all these combinations of problems. Music helped me with math, english and gave me a place to escape when I was put into undesirable situations. In Middle…

School of Rock. Seeing those words on my calendar made me dread the weeks to come. My parents had signed me up for an activity, once again, without asking my opinion first. My friends would be going, but that didn’t make it sound better. I would be put in a band with people I didn't know. I’d always left being outgoing and meeting new people for my friends to take care of, but this week it seemed to be on my to-do list.…

As many know, I am really into music. My favorite bands are; Project 86, Family Force 5, Emery, and Underoath. I’ve actually talked to most of these band’s members by the time I graduated high school. My love for music began in middle school. At that time, I was socially awkward with very few friends. To compensate, I buried myself in music. My dedication led to many honors and admiration from my peers. However, when I got to high school, my relationship with music fundamentally changed. The arrival of an overly demanding teacher coupled with a long episode of depression robbed me of my passion to play. As time progressed, the pain I felt became too much to bear, and I became desperate for an outlet in which I could express myself positively. My quest led me to music once more, but classical was no longer the genre of choice. It was in hip hop and rap music that I found the will to overcome mental illness.…

The car ride there was filled with anxiety. My mind was racing with terrible thoughts with things that could go wrong, and my leg was shaking violently like a jackhammer. I kept picturing MICDS celebrating together as we lowered our heads in defeat. I tried to pull myself out of this. This was not the mindset I needed. I turned on the radio, in attempt to bring up my mood a bit, focusing on the music and not what’s about to happen…
