Personal Narrative Essay: The Netball Game
The netball game would start in 5 minute. With my heart keeping on racing faster, I continued my practice. Little by little bits of practices, was what would make the difference.
“Ouch,” the ball scraped open my wounds on my hand, leaving blood on my hands and the ball, so maybe what I had thought was wrong. But whether it would affect my game play or not, I needed to be quick to clean it up.
I’m Karen, and everyone describes me as a cold-blooded person, but who cares about the other people, that’s just me.
Game started, it was a pretty pointless game, there was no chance that we would win against people who were two to three years older than us, but as a rule, we had to try our best.
The game went on as usual, I felt like playing a game

Here! No, to center, pass back!” Voices shouting all over the room, why bother to say it when you knew the moment would be gone after you finished the sentence, it was just like how the conversation box is useless in games.
“Run in front, ok back, mind the line, no that ball is going too fast… oh great, the computer is lagging, the ball stops med-air.”
“Wait a sec… what?” I was confused
Then the voices overwhelmed me, people were screaming, running, falling to the ground, I just stood there, watching a movie. It took me way too long to fully realize what had happened, and that frightened me, I was horrified by it, I never felt so scared before.
Then the ball dropped, straight down, bounced a few times, then it was sitting still on the ground, just like a normal ball. No one dared to touch it, the crying and screaming sounds went on. That was tenser for me than every scary movie that I had watched, I couldn’t feel my breath anymore, or my heart. I stared at the ball, and then realized, it was the ball I used for practice, the ball that had my bloodstain on.

Back in my doom, I picked up my needle and stabbed it into my finger and dropped the blood in some water, I had never been so curious in my life, I never had something that I just have to find out, and it was apprehensive. I stirred the water, and then poured it into the air, while saying,

Everybody from the team was there at the field. If you looked at our team you might think that we were just a bunch of small town screw-offs. We definitely gave the other team that impression as we warmed up. Our team didn’t take things too seriously. In the batting cages, we practiced our home run swings, and trots. The infielders, including me, bare handed the ground balls hit to us by one of the coaches, and jump threw the ball back to the first baseman pretending we were young Derek Jeters. The outfield dove at every ball that was hit at them. Even if the ball was coming straight at them, they ran back and come forward again so they could dive and get the ball. Yes, we were a bunch of…

BEEP BEEP BEEP. It was nine in the morning. The Sunday after the Saturday. I did my usual every morning before a game. I would take a shower, brush my teeth, and put on my uniform. My uniform is the Barcelona soccer team. With my long navy socks and my soccer shoes. By that time it's already ten in the morning. My parents were at a seminar, so my dad's friend took me and my two brothers to the game.…

One of my friends asked me if I was okay and i said "yeah I am fine". But then he asked me if I was okay after the hit? I said "yeah it hurt a little bit I'm okay now". Not thinking to much about the hit I started walking down the sideline to some of my other buddy's and then all of a sudden I felt super light headed so I sat down on the ground and soon enough another trainer came over and said if I was alright which I wasn't. The trainer checked me out for a little bit and asked me multiple questions which I thought I answered correctly but before you know it there was a ambulance and a fire truck sitting in the parking lot. With the paramedics rushing over to get me they soon put me on a stretcher and took me to the ambulance. I'm not gunna lie I was really scared one being I didn't know why I was being put into a ambulance, and because my parents were not down at the games to see if I was okay or where I was…

When I first came to Lake Highland I tried out for the girl’s golf team, but I was not experienced or skilled enough to make it on. This was a devastating moment for me, but I realized that I needed to try harder and work harder to make it on the team the next year. I became much more skilled and was able to make the team with ease. What the failure told me was that if I got knocked down then I would have to work hard to get back up. This lesson was very crucial to me my junior year of high school. During the golf season I severely injured my wrist. This injury put me out of the game for six months. I gained arthritis in my wrist, but I remembered what happened to me in seventh grade and worked hard to regain my skills. I made the team the…

Most people say cheerleading is not a sport, but to me it is. It all began when I was four years old and my mom signed me up to cheer for the Harrisburg Packers. I was nervous at first, but then it turned out to be a lot of fun. Everyone on the team was tall except for me and one other girl. Her name was Tatum. The first thing I thought was that I was going to get picked on by all the other girls because I was so little and shy, but it turned out to be totally different.…

From the day I could walk, I was involved in sports. From playing tee-ball in the backyard with my dad when I was three, to trying three new sports as a senior, athletics have been an integral part of my life. In my elementary school days, I tried every sport that was offered through the Jefferson Parks and Recreation. This included baseball, football, wrestling, karate, soccer, and tennis. Through middle school, I dropped several of these sports to focus on my two favorite sports, baseball and wrestling. Training for these two sports never ended and most of my time was spent either on a baseball field or on a wrestling mat. Entering my high school years, baseball and wrestling were the only sports I competed in. By my sophomore year, I was…
