Personal Narrative Essay: Why I Believe In A Gun

I believe in guns. I believe that firearms are very complex and intricate mechanical objects. The whole idea fascinates me. Pre- sixth grade, I was not into guns as much, but I got a BB gun for my birthday many years ago and was inspired. I had been shooting BB guns before then. My dad taught me to shoot with his BB gun. He was in the Army during Vietnam. He didn’t go to war, but he is still a good shot.Now I love firearms, and when I am older, I would like to have multiple pistols and rifles of assorted calibers, and at least one sniper rifle because why not. I want a Sig Saur P228 and/or P226 9mm pistols, and a McMillan M40A1 .308 sniper rifle. I don’t care if I can only use some of them at a range, because I still like guns.
One of the best things about guns is that if the US Military didn’t have guns, war would be a lot more gruesome because they would have to be closer to the enemy. Guns also support the economy. There is a tax on the gun itself, and a massive tax on ammunition due to gun control laws. A box of 50 9mm rounds can be anywhere from $13.49 to $54.99 or more. That is the US gun control tax at work. Many people would argue differently, but it is the truth. Be it a pocket knife, drawback is that people may catch a glimpse of your weapon and get scared, or you concealed carry, or even life alert, we always feel safer with something that can protect us. Not just anyone can get a concealed carry permit.
