People assume that just because you are pro-gun control that you have an “unrealistic” mind set. That you don’t believe in crime or violence and that you think owning a weapon is “immoral.” That is not what I believe. Of course there is violence and crime that occurs every day in our world on the streets of every city. I know that guns are used for more than just assaults, murder, and suicides. What is the most common murder weapon? A gun. Last year alone there were over 10,000 deaths due to gun related incidents in the United States. I don’t believe that all of those were maliciously done or purposely done, but does that make them okay? Some of the deaths that result from a gunshot are accidental. There have been many stories throughout the years about a young child who found his or her parent’s gun in the house and accidentally set it off and shot themselves or a sibling. We can do things to help prevent horrible situations such as these. We can require that people have to have locks on their firearms to prevent this from
