Young kids don’t have the understanding that a gun can potentially kill or seriously injure someone. A great amount of kids involved in tragic accidents are too young. Most parents think they’re old enough to keep a gun around the house and believe they’re responsible enough to be given one, but they’re not. According to the Journal Gazette newspaper, the younger, the more curious a child is about guns. So, the more time and effort it will take to bring him or her to the point of understanding why it is so important not to handle guns without adult guidance.
