Personal Narrative: My Day At George Washington High School
My bag swings on my shoulder as I run towards the school doors, attempting not to be noticed. Pretending not to care as people fall silent while I run past, my auburn hair flowing in the wind behind me. “Hey!” “Jasmine!” “What went down last night?” “I heard that the police came to your house.” I listen to the miscellaneous shouts of the crowd as my heartbeat slows like a bass drum in a ballad. Someone takes hold of my hand and pulls me to face them. It’s Maya, quite literally, the most popular girl in the 9th grade here at George Washington High School.
“Jasmine, I hope you don’t mind, but all of us heard something happened, and that you had something to do with it. We would all like to know about the

There is a note from Mom sitting there. It said:
Jasmine, I went to work early today. Your father needed my help trying to kickstart the new program. Just finish your homework and get a snack. You can go on Tumblr if you want. Don’t bother Leah and Chris. Love, Mom.
I sit down at the counter with my homework. My pile of folders and assignments take up the entire counter. I begin to do math, when I realize that I need my protractor. Leah had borrowed it previously because she needed it for Geometry.
I sigh, extricate myself from my chair, and slowly trudge up the stairs to Leah and Chris’ room.
As I open the door, the scent of gross, dirty laundry slaps me across the face. I stumble back to take a breath of fresh air.
When I recover, I speed Into their room holding my breath. I open the drawers in Leah’s desk and rummage around a bit, to try and find my protractor.
I remove my hands and find a post-it stuck to my right hand. I peel it off to read:
10 Jefferson Drive, there’s an abandoned lot back there. I told her to go there, or else. Glass shards to cut hands, or knife? Glass is maybe less suspicious, make Julie say she was cut on broken glass in an accident at

Throughout my years of high school I have always strived for the best grades that I could attain, and they didn’t come easy. There were plenty of distractions that had driven me off course. Whether it was long hours at practice, volunteering for my community, or having a part-time job, I couldn’t let these activities hinder my grades. This purpose had sprung in me, to not only strive in my extracurricular activities, but also my schoolwork. Balancing both school and additional activities wasn’t a simple task. This led me to many sleepless nights, in which I had to tutor myself on certain topics I was struggling on. This ranged from my hardest subject, to studying extra hours on my hardest class, and even simple topics that I needed extra work…

“We’re back to the Beav!” My dad would mockingly say this to embarrass me when telling family about my decision to transfer back into Beaverton School District. I had attended BSD schools my entire life; Montclair Elementary, then the International School of Beaverton for Junior High, but in the summer of 8th grade, I decided to switch to Woodrow Wilson High School. I had found an interest in Computer Programming, and felt that I wanted to pursue my passion. Wilson High has a very well-known Technology program, so I applied for a transfer and was accepted. Coming into my first day of Freshman year, I didn’t know a single person in my grade, but I wasn’t concerned about that. I quickly made friends, and settled down into place. The year was…

During my freshman year of high school I received a letter in the mail. This letter was an invitation to play basketball in Australia, with other boys and girls of my age. The date was September 13, 2011. The letter stated that we would be leaving June 1, of 2012. Of course I wanted to go as soon as I read the letter, but my family was more curious about the trip. We did some research and figured out everything that would be offered on this trip. In my research I read of playing Australian basketball games, snorkeling, swimming in the ocean, surfing, and spending three days on Tangalooma Island. This was enough to convince my family that it would indeed be a fun trip for me to attend.…

When they pulled up at the house Adalyn ran upstairs to take the pregnancy test. The first one came out negative, but Adaline didn't believe it so a few days later Adaline told Adalyn to try it again and all three of them came out positive. They told her they will try to get hold of him so while Adalyn went to lay down to think about what she was going to tell her parents the rest of the girls started Snapchatting Caden and Adaline tried to call him again and it started ringing but he didn't answer. Taylor went to talk to Adalyn because she didn't think she should be alone. Taylor went into the kitchen to get something to eat, then went upstairs to blow up Caden’s snapchat some more.
